For those who are yet to discover their full potential in their study - you do not need 9 A * to move on - there are sincere educators in the world willing to extend their help - take a look below for there are universities offering free education (with their universities rank top 100 in the world)...

Be Brave and Spread your Wings
Search for your sky beyond what you see now ...
Be thankful, he had the mobile phone during the exam. It led to all this isnt it. If he hadn't been caught with the mobile he would have been a just another Singaporean with all 'A', a nobody.
There is nothing terroristic about our educators. They are just programmed that way without any exceptions included.
But make sure your son don't turn to terrorism. He has reason to.
good for him
Hey I hope you still remember me,
I replied to your first post last year and I still remember it
Feel happy for your son. His results are good.
Happy dragon year to you!
Cheers,
Chin Seng
Time flies... 知觉.. i've stuck in this forum for another year already. It always feel good when forumers actually come and keep us updated. I guess you've just made my day~
You don't know MOE's motto, "moulding the future" ?
They put students in a mould, limit everything they can do, only what MOE wants them to do.
MOE's tagline... "moulding the future of our nation"
Getting 9 A makes you a big f*ck that exempts you from a rule that every other student abides to?
"Disappointed"?
" do not allow anyone or any system to destroy you
Listen to your inner voice "?
Why not bring it a step further and "unwittingly" use the wrong identification tag for IPPT?
True. It might be "unintentional", the system might be "inflexible". But if you don't like the rules here, then you can always "spread your wings and fly away", which worked out well for you.
But dont think for a moment that what worked for you when you did that, cant work well for the rest of us who abide by the rules.
want to point out that iGCSE and Singapore's GCSE are different in standards.
iGCSE is an international exam, taken mostly by students of international schools, including students from third world countries, who makes up the bottom half of the bell curve. And people in the UK have complained that their GCSE have became so easy that too many students are getting A1s, to the extent that they introduced a new grade, the A*, which is not found in Singapore's GCSE.
whereas in singapore, SEAB moderates the grades, so that each student receive a grade relative to their performance compared with the rest of their cohort.

They do mould the student for the future, but they forget to mould the teachers, ending up with lots of affair here and there, and I can said that most of you are also moulded from there, not bad lah, consider all your stupidity and funny side
Some also mouldy already, but still say 21 yo.
BTW, ts, thanks, i want to spread my wings very much.
I still don't understand how this correlates with terrorism.

23yo already, just back from taiwan, singapore CNY no more fun liao, like very normal, Taiwan still holiday, peoples still enjoy the festival, poor singaporeans, especially the chinese, all went back to work like a cow, but then, what to do, diminishing of culture, influx of FT, high cost of living and rental make most here struggling and never really appreciate their new year anymore.

I love chicken wings, those with honey, wow,..yummy
And for godsake, even your public security peoples are corrupted and womaniser, how to mould??
I dont understand!
If he is just being caught with a handphone with no English in O level cert. Should not he just go and retake the O level as a private canadidate?
Why do he go to JC to appeal for what!! NO English means nothing. So go and retake the O level English as simple as that.
Beside the examiner has reminded the kids again and again what is allowed and what is not. So why did he still go and bring the bloody HP in?

They were told absolutely no hand phones in the exam hall, before the exams.
They were reminded just before the exams.
They know when they reach the school on exam day, no handphones.
When they sit at their places, they are told no hand phones, one last time. Please check, no hand phone.
He did not make a minor mistake, he made a serious mistake. They would like to give him a benefit of a doubt, but ... it is a serious mistake, and they must be fair to all the rest who abided by the rules, and to those who were caught before and were penalised.
There are young impressionable people about, and they see.
