1989-1990
It all began in the summer of 1989 when the producer and musician Enrico Zabler and the DJ Tommy Schleh met at a party in London. Together they formed the band Masterboy.
In January 1990 is the first single "Dance To The Beat" released, the single is in the charts for 16 weeks and it reached the #24 in the Media Control Single Charts.
In the fall Masterboy goes in to the studio again to record a single and in November 1990 the second single "Shake It Up And Dance" is released. This single reaches the #32 in Media Control Single Charts.
1991
In March Enrico and Tommy begins the work with their first album. During this time they also plays at Gigs, Radio-festivals, in TV-Shows and on parties.
So in July the third single "I Need Your Love" is released.
In August Pet Shop Boys announces that they like "Shake It Up And Dance" so much, that they want to release it in the UK on their own label Spaghetti Records.
In September the debut-album "The Masterboy Family" is released.
Also released in 1991 was the single "Cause We Do It Again".
1992
Masterboy is touring in and outside Germany. Meanwhile Enrico and Tommy is constantly looking for new and innovative ideas, sounds and beats for new productions.
The singles "Keep On Dancing" and "O-oh Noche Del Amor" was released.
From October to January 1993 Masterboy is in the studio to record and produce their second longplayer.
1993
In July the second album is released and it was entitled "Feeling Alright". Also released in July is the first single,
"Fall In Trance", from the new album. The single goes in to the charts in several countries.
In August the single "Everybody Needs Somebody" is released. This single is the first single to feature the singe Trixi. This single also did very well on the european charts with several Top 10, Top 20 and 11 Top 30 placings.
1994
In February the single "I Got To Give It Up" was released. The single was in the charts for 20 weeks (13 weeks of
the 20 weeks it was in the Top 20 charts).
In July the most successful single to this day was released, "Feel The Heat Of The Night".
In August their third album was released, "Different Dreams". The album placed #13 on the album charts as it's highest.
In September "Feel The Heat Of The Night" had sold gold, over 300 000 copies sold.In France the single became #2 in
the charts, it stayed there for 4 weeks and then another 6 weeks in the Top 10. The single was a total of 8 months in
the charts. During this time Masterboy was on tour for 4 months, they did 40 gigs in 4 months.
In November the single "Is This The Love" was released.
In France the album "Different Dreams" sold gold and Masterboy became the #1 foreign Dance-act.
1995
In March Masterboy toured in Brazil.
In June the single "Generation Of Love" was released. In France a megamix was released and Masterboy
played in front of 30 000 visitors and 12 million (!) TV-viewers.
In September the single "Anybody (Movin' On)" was released.
In October the fourth album was released, "Generation Of Love". Masterboy also did a tour in October in Asia
together with other eurodance artists.
In November Masterboy and East 17 toured France.
In France the singles "Megamix 1995" and "Different Dreams" was released.
1996
The single "Land Of Dreaming" was released in January, the video to the single was on heavy rotation on VIVA and MTV.
In March the single "Love Message" produced by Masterboy was released. This single was done in cooperation with
Mr. President, E-Rotic, Fun Factory, Scooter and U96 to support the AIDS help. The single sold gold and got #3
on the single charts.
In the summer Trixi announced they she was going to leave Masterboy. Masterboy started to look for a new singer and found Linda Rocco. Linda Rocco was born in 1966 and had previously worked with Dance 2 Trance and had also sung with for example Milli Vanilli. Michael Jackson wanted her for his 1996 tour but Masterboy was faster.
In July the single "Mister Feeling" was released.
During the summer Masterboy produced ICE MC's new album.
The single "Show Me Colours" and the album "Colours" was released in October.
1997
The single "Just For You" was released in January.
Masterboy received an RSH-Gold award for Best Pop/Dance Act 1996 and also the title as Chartbreaker 1996 in February.
In March Masterboy went on tour, from Russia over Asia to South America.
In July the single "La Ola Hand In Hand" was released. This single was a doublemaxi and besides "La Ola Hand In Hand"
it also featured the song "Set Me Free".
September 1997- July 1998
After more than 7 years of work, they decided they was going to take a break. During this time
Tommy Schleh worked on his soloproject Klubbingman
Masterboy also produced DJ Phantasma's singles "Welcome To The Club and "Revolution".
During this time a Masterboy US-album was produced, the album contained 12 hits from the 7 years of Masterboy.
August 1998-1999
In August the single "Dancin' Forever" was released. It featured a new sound, a return to the early 80th.
After this single the group decided again to take a break to get new energy.
During this time Enrico became a father, twice, Tommy began building a Discothek and Linda together with her husband started a Singingschool in Frankfurt. During the break it became obvious that Tommy and Enrico wanted
to go a different way musically than Linda wanted.
Tommy, Enrico and Linda decided that they would be producers on other projects where Linda would be the singer.
Now Masterboy once again needed a singer. The musical way Tommy and Enrico wanted to go was totally clear: Dancefloor! Back to the roots. They contaced some agencies in Europe to find a new singer. With an agency in Langen in Frankfurt they gathered 5 singers and together with Enrico they went to the studio.
None of the singers corresponded to what Tommy and Enrico wanted. Enrico asked the owner of the agency (that he knew could sing) also to try. She had everything they looked for and Masterboy had again found their singer. The new singers name was Annabell Kay.
In July 1999 the single "Porque Te Vas" was released.
2000
The single "I Like To Like It" was released in January and was the second single to feature Annabell Kay.
In February Masterboy together with their recordcompany decided to released a Best Of album, due to the 10 year anniversary of Masterboy.
In June a remake of the 1994 classic hit "Feel The Heat Of The Night" was released, "Feel The Heat 2000".
In July the "Best Of" album was released, the album contains all the top hits and also 3 unreleased (on CD) tracks.
A limited 2 CD set, where the second CD contained the first official Masterboy Megamix was also released.
2001
The singer Trixi returned to the group.
In March the album "The Heat Of The Night" was released.
Also a single called "Ride Like The Wind" was released, but due to poor feedback in the clubs no video was made.
2002
In October the single "In Need A Lover Tonight" was released.
2003
The single "Feel The Heat Of The Night 2003" was released on September 22nd.
2005
A best-of album entitled "Greatest Hits Of The 90's & Beyond" was released on October 3rd in Singapore.
