Hmmm .... don't call me a racist with this thread. I really want to know if immigrants from China contributing to a 'better Singapore ... in terms of ideas and inventions not only taxes'
dont know what u are trying to drive at but their presence here is already a contribution to the economy
.
why oni targeting at mmigrants from China
In Singapore's earlier days, Malaysian Chinese were preferred immigrants. Now, Singapore a cosmopolitan city-state I find immigrants from China had harder time to assimilate into country.
seriously, it very much depend on which levels you are looking at.
there are many low entry jobs that very little Singaporean want to fill it up, you just look at any foodcourts and some retails at the neighbours will do, mostly are fill up by them. alhought they may not even get a job in their hometown, but they are willing to take up the hardship here away from their home.
Take a look at the high net worth, there are many low profile millionaires from their China in Singapore, setting up, aquiring local business creating jobs for locals too.
example: tution centres.
We just need to work harder to create a value for ourself.
Even if there is no foreigners here, you will be competing with the others fellow Singaporean.
But 1 truth thing is, living standard is rising too fast for us to catch up. Only the rich will get richer, middle class and below will suffer.
