Visited Scandinavia recently and although their standard of living is higher than ours, their cost of living is really through the roof!
Imagine a normal McDonald's value meal being SGD35. What do the locals eat? It is a good thing we have hawker food and cheap raw food and vegetables to keep our living costs at a reasonable level, otherwise if inflation is uncontrolled we will face the same costs in time to come.
sg is god damm expensive.

So long governments world wide are printing money, where money is no longer tied to the gold standard, there will be inflation and things are only going to get worse. In fact, as a rough guide what ever money you have in 30 years down the road will be approximately worth only 1/3 of its original value due to inflation. One must find a way to create more streams of income, business or invest in the right instruments to be safe from this monster.
replacing machines with labour will help us a lot in making ends meet, as this will create more employment opportunities, trigger more spending, generate more revenue (for firms), create even more employment opportunities, increase wages/salary, trigger even more spending, ...
in other words, we will all have more money if we replace machines with labour.
If you earn a few million dollars a year, 90k is affordable.

Thats what they want you think. It works in a country where population is declining heavily, otherwise not.
When machines replaces labour,it is more efficient and cheap. But the price of goods won't come down much. All the displaced labour now competes with others and price of labour goes down and the salary too.In short, good for the company bad for normal people.
