I still prefer Singapore. Yes the property prices and car prices are rocket high....but at least I can feel safe....my children are safer playing on the streets and playgrounds... and a good education system....with child/day care centres all nearby....
In a particular country not so far away, a breakfast muffin, a cup of tea, and a bottle of water can cost you 17 bucks at the airport. Notwithstanding, the airport trolleys cost 4 bucks to use, non refundable.
Fook Sydney airport.
flower...is blooming suspiciously.
Flower..a radiant light binding endlessly.

Originally posted by Demon Bane:As for this expensive or not topic, I have to agree that Singapore is still ok....I mean if you buy a house in other countries (its cheap in ulu areas) but you probably have to travel afew hours to-fro to get groceries or a nice restaurant...Singapore is housing expensive but amenities top notch...almost everywhere is near food/shopping area...or a short bus/mrt trip to places of interests... not to mention that its more secured and less crime rates...I don't know those ulu areas have internet access or not ? I think people that choose to leave Singapore behind and immigrate to other countries must don't like SG alot...most reasons are due to housing/cars prices.....food prices in SG still quite ok. In short SG is a nice place if you can get a decent job....if you have lower income, sorry...it'll be a struggle to stay alive...everywhere else is the same for low income people...public transport is ok also.
Ah, Sir, lets compare city and city, compare SG with London, Tokyo, Hong Kong and you will realise that SG more expensive,
Supermarkets compare, SG with London (Asda/Tesco), Tokyo(Aeon), Hong Kong(Wellcome/Park n Shop/Vanguard), Barcelona(Billa/Lidl)
U been to supermarket?! a tube of toothpaste costs SGD4.50, basic necessities costs almost the price of 2 lunches(SGD2.00/2.50 variety).
food prices are NOT OK coz the rent is going up...
The places that most SGreans frequent, ie Hawker centre, prices are going up becoz
1. After Hawker centre upgrade, must pay more rent, most hawkers increase their price to cover overheads.
2. Cleaners price increase coz gahmen say no minimum wage but muz give workers higher pay(this i agree) but contractor for hawker centre cleaning say margin squeeze, increase price coz gahmen say cleaner went for training muz be at least this price, so hawker pay more, again margin squeeze, so either price go up or portion smaller...
Public transport not ok, i tink Sir, you do not take public transport, try squeezing in a bus during peak hours( i tell you where to stand and which bus to take, not 190, too famous liao)
Weekday after peak i can wait 6 mins for MRT train on North South line and jam packed
NEL weekends at 10min freq in the mornings...
I have stayed in Japan , London, Hong Kong before, seriously SG is really not that great except for the passport...
The govt want prices to go up. We can do nothing but to vote them out. Damn you PAP!

Charlize 2 stressed by high prices, laughing to relieve stress...
BAck to topic, TS say CH outside food more ex, but does TS know that most Swiss cook and eat at home?!
They visit their local produce markets or supermarkets(MIGROS), very seldom do they eat out...
Last but not least, SWISS cook at home coz they have strict working hours(legislated) and must be adhered to by coys which is why they have a balanced work-life environment...
