the system must embrace the oppositions and alternative voices as an enhancement rather than seeing it as dangerous.....such perception would only lead down towards a more immature political path - that is, over relying on one system....how could the citizens be expected to grow up and mature towards the future?

just don't hold your breath thinking sgporeans will wise up this time. Throw in some threats that HDB prices will drop and people get scared. Servicing huge loans and yet value of property drops. Enough to scare the shit out of family men.
After all, the HDB is a way to tie sgporeans to singapore, isn't it?

I think hdb prices dropped a fair bit years back.
It was only recently that prices have been spiralling upwards and out of control.
Yes, back then, the incumbent party was still pap.

Tricks, tricks and more tricks and never-ending propagander.
Headlines always say "foreign TALENT is good for Singapore".
Then when u read the text of the article, the argument favouring foreign talent suddenly TRANSFORMS into foreign WORKERS eg "These foreigners are good for us because they help collect garbage, clean toilets and work at construction sites." As far as I can observe, I have NEVER SEEN FOREIGN TALENT collect garbage, clean toilets and work at construction sites. Instead what I see is foreign talent earning an obsene amount of money simply by being managers and living it up in Singapore.
Why does PAP always begin their speech on the goodness of foreign talent, then slowly but surely, in the middle of their speech subtly switch the topic to foreign workers?

Yes, they always do the bait and switch - like its been pointed out many times Singaporeans aren't threatened by the construction workers, they are edged out by the Australians, British, India Indians, PRC CHinese, Filipinos that come in and take PMET jobs which can be filled by Singaporeans. Do we really need more foreigners and ang moh secretaries / admin assistants etc in Singapore?!

they should knwo better than more educated people now this type of agenda only work 30 yrs back. they keep doing this they will lost more votes until eventually in the next GE they going to loose half the sits. the changing of the guard it sjust a matter of time. -

initially is foreign talents. but later they decide to let our pants down be analled because we need to boost our population, we need people to come here rent our house, take our trains, steal our jobs. yet with so many floor traps we are still losing businesses. come one wake up. this election they gonna loose more votes if they don;t come out with million dollar solutions. and i mean really paid for millions' classs type of solutions, not one size fits all solutions. -
haha who says foreign workers are not the same as foreign talents. they are talented in the own way e.g construction work..using the forkcrane to lift cement blocks

we need foreign workers in areas like cleaning, healthcare and construction.
but what about those who work in banks, hotels, IT etc. we certainly dont need them.
it may be true that foreign workers help create good jobs but how many? 100 foreigners create 2 good jobs for locals?

hotel need foreign workers.. to many it's macham shift work as wellbut well the problem is foreigner doing your hospitality industry. ironic.

singaporeans want superb service but they themselves dont provide such service to others.
thats the real irony.
see how the japanese operate? they provide super service to each other. hence whereever they go in japan they have the right to demand top service.
