i wonder how many extras he kena.. or is it really the NSFs these days are kuniang and he'll actually be counselled?
in the past the guy will probably kena court-martialled...
I'm willing to believe that 'counselled' is exactly what it means. You know, political correctness....
I get pretty pissed when someone does something wrong and all he gets is 'counselling'. The last time DBS screwed me over because several staff screwed up, I went berserk when the manager told me that the offending staff would be 'counselled'.
Like I told the manager, 'counselling' is what you get when your pet dog dies or when your girlfriend runs off with your best friend. In the end, he agreed with me and promised that he would issue them with reprimand letters that would count against their bonuses and promotions.
For something of this incident's magnitude, a few extras given by a berserk platoon sergeant should be the order of the day.

So next time this ppl go into the workforce, they need to bring "Amy" over too???
in the past we used to walk to school on our own and do things by ourselves.
majority of the younger generation are pampered. those parents have gone through what we did. i dont understand why they want to pamper their kids that way knowing its bad for them.
THE Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) has completed its investigation into the recent case of a serviceman who was photographed with his domestic helper carrying his field pack ('Deafening silence in army backpack saga' by Mr Patrick Tan; last Saturday).
The serviceman concerned has identified himself to his commander.
He was a recruit undergoing the Physical Training Preparatory phase prior to the Basic Military Training phase.
The recruit is remorseful for his actions and realises that it was wrong for him to have allowed this.
He has been counselled and continues his training. The SAF has reminded all servicemen to be mindful of their conduct in public.

Owned up?
Or sold out?
Like in the private sector, no big deal if you think of it as outsourcing the tradditonal batman role to a cheaper though not necessasry better FT. Some people whine about this prob b'cos they didn't think of this first or they they scat this plum position(of a batman) will soon be takeover completely by FT like many jobs in the civilian world.

he did PLENTY wrong...
there may be nothing in the law that says he did wrong, but he disgraced the whole of the SAF and by default, the whole of Singapore...
if that is "nothing wrong" to you, you really really need to do some soul searching...

There's alot of servicemen swearing vulgarities in Shopping centre.
Everyweek I see.
No one cares about SAF image one lah.
If the law says he's not wrong then he's not wrong.

You got a point there.
The risks of owning up is tantamount to being marked for life in army and next time in civilian life.
The recruit can always claim it is not him since the face cannot be seen.
Unless the army tells the whole unit to stand by their maids to compare who looks the most like the woman in the pic.

The photo never show their faces clearly.
Both maid and the recruit.
we should outsource our first wave of soldiers to foreigners. they no need eapons just need body armor and lots of fats. can tahen many hits before the enemy exhaust their ammo and attention then our main strike force move in.
