My mom ferried me home better don't even need a maid to carry my stuff.

Mindef should be a free laundry services,
Before book out, all their cloths can wash there and pack there.
Go home empty handed, dont need to carry any big bags.

i see a lot of the same people who come up with these "solutions" also have this suggestion that the women also do NS in order to "be more self-reliant"

That guy with the maid carrying his fullpack is not a civilian but full time SAF personnel.
Once you put on the SAF uniform in public, you are representing the SAF, so his disgraceful behaviour is an insult to the image of SAF and to all NS men and NSF.
That sorry excuse of a soldier, I hope his platoon sergeant will severly tekken him in tekong.

Deafening silence in army backpack saga
I HAVE been waiting to see how the full-time national serviceman (NSF) concerned and the Ministry of Defence (Mindef) respond to the saga of the maid carrying her master's backpack ('He's in the army... but she has the backpack'; Monday).
It raises a question of courage under fire, if he is unable to own up or explain his action. Mindef too has remained relatively silent.
As the photograph is fairly recent, one could conjecture that he is likely to be an NSF recruit from the junior college cohort, which may also mean he is earmarked for a leadership role, as an officer or a non-commissioned officer.
If so, the implications are more serious as leadership qualities are involved.
