THE licensee of a hotel in Chinatown was fined $800 on Thursday for allowing a prostitute to ply her trade in a room.
Teo Eng Heng, 40, admitted to breaching the Hotels Licensing Regulations at Dragon Hotel, Mosque Street, on April 24 last year.
A court heard that police on rounds in Chinatown saw a couple enter the hotel. On checking the room, they found a couple.
The man told police that he had met the 31-year-old Filipina at People's Park Complex and had accepted her offer to provide him sexual services for $100.
Teo had failed to take steps to ensure that the hotel was not used for prostitution.
A second similar charge was taken into consideration. He could have been fined up to $1,000.
How does the police know if the hotel let prostitute run the trade in their hotel?
Normally is the customers who check in and check out right?
no watch out.
