-VPower Group wins three awards for Fast Track Delivery and Effective Plant Upgrade at 2015 Asian Power AwardsHONG KONG /PRNewswire/ -- VPower Group, one of the fastest growing independent power providers (IPP), is the proud recipient of the 3 awards - "Gas Power Project of the Year" and "Fast-Track Power Plant of the Year" for the Myanmar Electric Power Enterprise (MEPE) 230kV Substation project in Kyauk Phyu, and "Power Utility of the Year - Indonesia" for PLN Diesel to Gas Plant Upgrade in Pekanbaru at this year's Asian Power Awards 2015.

"Gas Power Project of the Year" and "Fast-Track Power Plant of the Year" recognize the rapid design, installation and commissioning of the 45 MW power project in Kyauk Phyu. The project connects directly to Myanmar's 230 kV transmission grid, which poses unique challenges at an isolated location where the power units can only be reached by sea. The complete gas-powered installation goes into operation in just under 4 months - a first for both VPower and Myanmar.
The Diesel to Gas Plant Upgrade for Efficient Power Generation project in Pekanbaru is awarded "Power Utility of the Year." The 50 MW plant features the newest generation Rolls Royce mobile gas power modules and offers one of the cleanest power generation solutions in Indonesia. The complete conversion was done within the plant's original footprint.
