To support medical professionals enlarging their knowledge on NIV, Draeger will share practical experiences in emergency care ventilation at ICEM. Mr Michael Rodda, a leading Draeger expert in the field of ventilation in emergency medicine and a former Registered Nurse with more than 20 years of experience in both clinical practice and equipment expertise, will share insights on how NIV can benefit patients as well as practical ideas to improve success rate with NIV during his talk on 10 June.
Mr Andreas Frahm, President, Draeger Medical Region Asia Pacific, said, "Technology has always played a key role in emergency medicine to ensure accurate diagnosis and adequate stabilization of a patient prior to definitive treatment. In respiratory emergencies, non-invasive ventilation (NIV) can help to prevent or delay intubation, therefore minimizing complications associated with invasive ventilation. Patients not only experience enhanced therapy and better care, but also can be treated safely during transportation. The result is improved outcomes and a more confident team of healthcare professionals. With this talk on non-invasive ventilation, Draeger hopes to contribute to the development of emergency medicine in collaboration with the participants at ICEM 2010."
