As a new driver on road, sure you meet some difficulty like pronunciations on raod names,
sometime very similar all this you can throw it here in this thread.
Like me before took one passenger, lately there are so many Cina mainland passengers here.
On board where you wanted to go?
English.
Zhong Bah Loo Pasar.
Zhong Bah Loo Pasar. Correct she replied in Mandarin.
From Toa Payoh striaght CTE exit Outram take right Tiong Bahru Market destination.
Pressed the meter. Poo Tze Poo Tze.
Knn... just now you told Zhong Bah Loo Pasar.
Knn... you know where she wanted to go. Tiong Bahru Plaza.
Pasar translated to Plaza.
That why this kind of Cina mainland very difficult to fulfill them.
Talk loud Talk arrogant. now i don't have a damn when they are on board.
when i see them.
Say properly before you start your journey. No dispute after
.
There are many kind of Paxs taking taxi everyday, what kind of pax you wanted to classified them.
Pax make booking call Serangoon North Ave 1, came in with her handphone taking to someone, asked her where you heading VivoVelo city, so Vivo or Velo city not clear, sister where Thomson YES! YES!, than journey continue. The handphone talks continue just near to the Taxi stand handphone Stop, Taxi I am going to Vivo City Harbourfront, What I asked you
Thomson Thomson you said Yes,no didn’t told you Yes, I am replying the the one I am talking Yes Yes not you. Vivo City I told. Wow cannot stand.
So what next continue she said to Vivo Harbourfront, you discount after that is your mistake, Ha What, than how go, by Rochor Road than proceed, heavy jam to Harbourfront.
Total fare $19.30 she pay $14.00, another Lady robber. Next time say Harbourfront or Novena make thing more easy what Velo what Vivo you understand. Young lady, it ok for me.That is not a big deal for that five dollars deduction.
This is how we encounter everyday…The Bad.
This from one of the Pioneer Guru ALN.
He encounted this from forum1802 that someone metioned is the real thread.
Those days. those rolling good time. If iam not wrong less than ten of us.
Who started the ball rolling every nights over here at 1802 forum.
Quote
ALN.
took one chinese lady at robinson road 8pm. destination jurong west. i asked AYE, she says yes. i avoided cross street cos kena stuck in bad jam once. so i tried battery road then merchant road to AYE. bad jam also at battery road. pax tu lan, why u take this route… aiya cross street also jam one lah… to appease her, i gave her $0.8 discount (round down)...
some time back, one ang moh young lady got on at holland v after midnight. destination river valley, valley park… pax scolding her staff over phone… At grange road junction, i asked her turn left (into river valley towards clark quay)? she said yes. when we passed mohammad sultan, i look at her…knn still on the phone… then i asked her still straight? then she said it is way behind… she says if i dont know why is valley park why i din asked… ok nevermind i stopped the meter and u-turn… i asked her can she now direct me to valley park… she said no unless i give her 50% discount and that i am the taxi driver… i said mdm i just want to send you home fast and safe, why not we cooperate… she said no…so ok loh i stopped the taxi to start to check map, then only she said just straight ahead. At destination, i asked her to just pay me what she feel like it. She pay me $10 (round up) and said she may be white but she is not a tourist and slam the door… knn as if i want to cheat her… behave like a young bitch who is too young for her mgr job…
So this is the Mentor Poolman.
He will put many comments and correct you.
Not like those know nothing arrow anyhow to the newbie.

They always pronouned Race Course Road as West Coast Road .
Once In2 indian girl gets on board my cab , told me : "farrer Court", actually they wanted to go Paragon .
I actually also drove them to Farrer Court inside the condo , inside reached then they know i make a mistake .
Those day we did it every nights, like this kind of lesson, that Poolman the Mentor contributed.
from the old thread.
I agreed with you that some road name that can be quite confusing,e.g:Maju Avenue and Maju Drive,Seraya crescent and Seraya Road, they are distant apart.
However,as a Taxi Shifu, you should do your homework on those HDB roads ,avenue and streets, cos ,ultimately, most of your passengers came from there!
For most of housing estate, street number indicates the neighbourhood it belonged to ,Street 51,52 mean they are at neighbourhood 5,or block number 5xx,street 12,13 mean they are at neighbourhood 1,or block 1xx,and so on..
here is what i did… got time read the street directory… read 1 or 2 main HDB estate at one time… remember 2 or 3 main roads within each estate and the rest will link up…e.g. Yishun must know Ave 2, Bedok must know bedok north road and bedok south road, Woodlands must know Ave 2 and Ave 7, CCK must know CCK way and CCK drive, andCCK north area.
Another pattern is usually even number Ave usually run parallel to one another e.g. vertical..whereas odd number runs horizontal…
another pattern is like what frog says street 31 means blk 300 series number while street 51 means 500 series blk number…all estates like that except for bedok.. dont know why.. maybe old estate
another pattern is ‘drive’... drive 51 means near or off ave 5, drive 64 means off ave 6…
after 100 days driving, you should be very familiar liao.
But main road and expressway exit must know… no excuse
knn so easy ...... aiyo S'pore very easy one !!!
U see those green sign board near those estate ?
Like N1 , N2 , N3 ?
These is to indicate the block initial number , N1 means blk 101 to 199 .
N2 means Blk 200 to 299 like that .
St is what ???
For example Pasir Ris St 11 ?
Means what ?
Means those blocks is starting from 100 to 119 .
St 12 is something like blk 120-129
St 13 is like blk 130-139 .... got it ???
Jurong West St 42 ? Go and see la .. started from blk 450-499 like that , Jurong st 41 is something like blk 400-449 , go and check la , very accurate one .
So when pax say Jurong West St 42 , u just follow those sign board that indicate N4 or ask the pax which block number , like that easier .
Ave ?
Like AMK Ave 1 , ave 3 , ave 5 , ave 9 , it's all parallel to each other . AMK doesn't have Ave 7 la i think .
AMK Ave 2 , ave 4 , ave 6 , ave 8 and ave 10 , all horizontal , got what i mean ??
Singapore , only Bedok and Toa Payoh abit confusing if u do not have experience . Until now i also not very good at Toa Payoh and Bedok , althought both is a small town .
Whereas those bigger town like Tampines , Jurong , Bt Batok , woodlands adopted very similiar road structure
Then u go and study woodlands .....
For example u are at Woolands Ave 2 , coming in from SLE .
Straight away , the first junction is Wlands Ave 1 , second junction is Wlands Ave 5 , third junction is Ave 7 , last junction is Ave 9 , so horizontally parallel to each other , Ave 1,5,7,9 .....
Then from the vertical , Woodlands Ave 2 , right turned into Ave 1 right ? Next junction will be Ave 4 . Further down is Ave 6 , then Ave 8 , Ave 10 etc Ave 12 .
Got it ?
what's so difficult ???? Aiyo ....
Unlike ALN , i never read road directory myself , learn nothing !!
Explore is everything , understanding is the best .
Sengkang ? Those knn what Vale what vale , dun confuse yourself .....
Sengkang has 4 plot of lands .... all Squarish .
From Jalan Kayu side , we go in from Jln Kayu side , ok ?
Remember this four character : F A C R
F = Fernvale
A = Anchorvale
C = Compassvale
R = Rivervale
Anchorvale all blk 300+
Compassvale all 200+
Rovervale all blk 100+ ....
knn easy , right ???
Then Sengkang all juctions , major juctions , their block number always starts with Blk 101 , or Blk 201 , or Blk 301 .....u go and see .
I master a bit , understood the structure , easier .
Each town has a major road , which link to all roads and aves , that one must learn by hard actually .
Bedok North Road is one .
Yishun Ave 2 is one ....
woodlands ave 2 also one ... or Ave 7
Bt Batok East ave 3 another one ....
Jurong West Ave 1 another ....
So when u drive , open ur eyes ..... see those blocks , and what the blocks has to do with the road name ?
Jurong West St 91 , what block ? Cannot be Blk 520 right ? Must be Block 900+ , surely one .
Uncle me closed two eyes can go to anywhere .
Want to learn difficulty level super high one ???
Go and learn those Kovan area .... Simon Road , Flower Road , Parry Road , Richards Ave , etc ..... the whole plot of land . Highland Road and Lowland Road ... knn this one chim sia .
Better learn , if not one fine day , u go in , dunno how to come out !!!
First time i go to Philips Ave from Yio Chu Kang area , come out through Hougang Ave 2 !!!
U certainly have no idea how fucking confusing is that area . Poh Huat area la knn to be precise .
And also .... Coronation Road west , go and study by hard . Those Jalan Haji Alias , Jalan Lim Tai see , Coronation Road , Duchess Ave , many call one !!!!
Learn a bit beneift alot ....
Also Eng Kong garden area inside terraces ....
Simei is one new town which doesn't have Ave , all Street .
Street 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 ,5 .
Got time > Go and study Tuas Area !!
Gul Road , Gul Circle , Gul Lane , Gul Ave , Gul Drive .....
Tuas Ave 1 is where ?
Tuas South ave 3 is where ?
I not so bother about u sending people in , mostly pax guide u in .
It's how u going to come out !!
U certainly have no idea how fucking big is Gul Circle , one round is 10 minutes 60km/h ride , just a circle alone .
I am not scaring you ..... one fine day u will kena one pax tell you : "Uncle , Gul Lane ! "
Then your balls shrink !! lol .....
Gul Lane PIE also can go , AYE also can go , which exit ???
KNN liao , right ??
Wrong exit kena fuck by pax , if they know , it's good , can still give discount !
If KNN the pax said : "I also dunno .... first time go ! " , u siow liao lor ???
Sorry , take another taxi behind ???
lol ..... Mind u , hotels in City many ang-mo go Tuas one hor !!!!
Uncle me spent almost 2 months @ 2003 everyday go Tuas , from 5pm to 12am , wait for on-call ..... that 2 months very low salary , cos learning ladder . From Tampines zoom to Tuas , cos eager to master the place .
But when u master Tuas , walan eh .... those effort , worth it man .
Tuas area is a pot of goldmine ..... u go in , if familiar , got call for u , one call from Tuas to Sengkang ..... knn near $30 .... travel by all the 5 Es ...
PIE - KJE - BKE-SLE - TPE ..... song bo ? No traffic lights ??? 30 minutes job $30 if on call . No need street pick until like mad , one hour dunno got $25 ?
If sent people in = $15 , take one call come out $30 , one hour $45 , easy money !!
Walan if go Airport from Tuas South Ave 9 , midnight knn , Bangala on call go home .... meter jump , see liao si bey shiok , $45 minimum .
Step accelerator until leg swallon . lol
Imagine u dun put in an effort 2 learn , then one fine day u go Tuas , Ting ! Tuas south Ave 5 on call go Airport , knn u don't dare take , wasted right ????
Saliva drips like hell ...others took it . $35 fly away .lol
Then fucking vacant 9km all the way down to Jurong Point , lol .
Lesson that's all for tonight .
Master zzzzzzzzzz liao ...tired .
Yup

Thank Mentor your contribution.
Sometime this kind of shorter routes longer routes really got hardtime to settle with Pax so many choices.
Just like last Saturday from SunsetWay to Plaza Singapura. So when she the Chinese young lady on board… my first question. Where? any particular routes. Yes…AYE..CTE…Exit Clemenceau. Wow this way…Why? she asnwer back… normally peoples over here prefer Ulu Pandan straight to Orchard Road around your estate. But. I think this route will cost more.
Aiya just another one or two dollars no traffic hussle, why not. So my question not shorter routes is a must in everyday Taxidriving.
The Undestanding Pax. Good.
Guru ALN with your experience. Day 8.30 am from Yishun St71 to Odean Tower. Actual route to destination in your control. And how much will be the total fare for the whole journey. Can share over here.

Minimum $28 including ERP ( at least $6 ) . Peak Hour .
KCTK told keep quiet never say Jam on highway, if not go straight to MRT station than Rugi less income.
Haha Job offer fro Yishun Street st71 extra $3.50 booking. This two IT paxs on board, Sir where too...Odean Tower near City Hall. Ok... so which route you prefer. CTE exit Balestier. Here we go Sembawang, Lentor, SLE, CTE. still ok when enter CTE but toward AMK exit down the road heavy JAMS.
Trouble trouble moving like slowlt inches by inches. the trafic flow, after the two CTE ERP gantries, no escape from here fast. So we exit Upper Serangoon than Kallang Bahru, Lavender North Bridge road, two more ERP addon. Total fares $39.40. Very unhappy after paying..
Normally this whole trip only 20 minutes from my place, this time you take 40 minutes..unlucky unlucky. Sir, next time you should drop down to the nearest MRT station. Than endup not paying so much, GOODAY.
CTE-exit upper serangoon? usually if endure CTE till PIE, might as well go further south cos no jam liao… that’s why if go past PIE, i will prefer exit orchard.
if want to exit CTE early to reduce jam, should exit bradell then uppper serangoon
somemore bendeemeer got another ERP?
$39? ask you what is your record fare so far? me got once after midnight… on call clark quay to woodlands… lady drunk… her friend very smart… ask her ang moh male friend to come along… then woodland go back to tiong bahru.. ang moh pay her $50… he pissed off liao… total fare $50+... very shiok for me…
isn't life a bitch? mention highway jam and you kena go nearest mrt station instead, dun mention kena f, cos many pax knows we'll receive info on highway traffic conditions. really "heads i win, tails you lose".
me, if during peak hour 100% inform, cos totally no benefit to both cabby n pax. you can get better returns on shorter trips during peak hours. get stuck in jam, 20 cents every 45 sec. not worth the time wasted AND pax upset, show u black face, f you, etc.
alvin is rite, almost all the highways oso this condition, once past the bottlenecks, smooth traffic. personally i find that doing detours reaps no benefits at all cos everybody and his brother oso doing the same thing.
eh alvin, bendemeer erp oready there for many moons lah.
personal best...$60+ airport > holland v > shangrila hotel > 6 battery rd. Evening peak hours summore. additional $20 tips. omo time lah. obviously angmoh pax.
yo KCTK,
i always wonder… whether morning peak or evening peak jam is worse overall… i hate jam
morning peak i thought CTE sure either heavy or jam till PIE? last time in previous job, every morning i always go CTE… sure jam even with ERP… but luckily i can exit AMKave 1 to go toa payoh
CTE is very jia lat… sunday also very heavy….i think they should just make it 5 lanes along city to SLE stretch….badly need the KPE to reduce its volume…
yo alvin,
cannot compare lah. sure evening peak worse. evening time practically every highway jam both directions, whereas morning peak mostly jam in one direction only (except PIE)
come sep 20, expect income to be affected, esp during non-peak cos KPE OPENS TO TRAFFIC. kena north-east pax most likely wanto use it.
yo moderator, can give us some info on KPE's exit/entry points in both directions?
eh KCTK, why income will be affected with KPE?
kin, actually i also have same thinking… to have very high ERP on CTE, PIE and no ERPon other roads. charge an amount that can still allow cars in peak hours to go at 90km/h like off peak…. be it $5 or $10 if nec…..
like that if you want to avoid jam, pay a lot… else join the jam on free roads…
less confusing and more efficient… not the current pay also jam system…or numerous roads with ERP
but just our wishful thoughts…
CTE is very jia lat… sunday also very heavy….i think they should just make it 5 lanes along city to SLE stretch
Just wait and see what widening the road on CTE highway, it will be the same whether is 3 lanes or 5 lanes. Now the Bungkok residents slowly coming up, you know how many cars will be running on this CTE, the next what will be the solution. Few more ganties will be coming soon. One pax told indication, one more coming up near the Hougang Ave 7 at the Punngol end junction near the Church this one is for the Punggol and Sengkang residents. Still thinking it is posssible.
back to original topic...
1. today kena 70+ old man let go bowels in my cab. torturous 20mins to destination even wif windows down. din have the heart to scold him or ask him to pay extra for cleaning up the mess. took 1 hour to clean n deodorize the interior, used up my entire can of deodorizer spray in 1 go. there goes my peak hour. eat grass...sigh.
2. some time back, abnn family of 4, mother wif 3 teenage sons. as they were alighting, saw that the floor mats were covered with MUD. no sorry, no offer of payment for cleaning up. i asked them..would you do the same thing if this was your own car? knn, they just laughed in my face n walked off. fare $6, spent $4 car wash, another 1/2 hour cleaning the interior. loss of earning claim from who? eat myself.
really hope pax could be more considerate lor.

peak period ok lah, easy to get pax. morning time like 11am everywhere oso few pax, i dun mind longer distance cos time difference is small when running on highway. ex.ecp/pie/tpe vs ecp/kpe distance quite alot of diff, but travelling time not much diff.
wow lan… old man letting go… but u steady lah… never scold him… old liao really bo pian…
but the mud one i also got kena once… first trip on a sat… family of 5 incl kids… short trip houg to seng kang… $5… bloody mud all over… they step on mud just before getting in my cab… no sorry… i spent 10 mins spring cleaning… suay…
wow KCTK, u pang kang can relax…
me Fri pang kang liao can be 7am… stoned out….my neighbour see me in working attire also confused whether i starting the day or ending the day… haha
alvin, be careful picking up pax on east/west coast park, especially if dey looked as if they just had a nice time on the beach.
knn, kena both east & west coast park, dun noe why but coincidentally both abnn families. nothing wrong at first glance, clean taxi time den noe the bau. back seat a lot of very fine sand grains trapped between the sew lines of the seat cover. 30 minutes of vacuuming. obviously they din bother brushing the sand off their bodies, shoes watever b4 boarding the taxi.
.
another one – woodlands to SMRT depot AMK ave 1…5am
i thought just SLE-CTE-AMK Ave1… but midway he says exit lentor…
it is shorter. but much shorter to worth the extra time? i counted at least 8 traffic light extra… but he is a nice chap… chatted with me… he say SMRT looking for train drivers… no need driving licence… i thought need…
Three PIE exits on this journey to International Business Park. She told me exit Bukit Timah than i think she may be taking the Adam Farrer PIE, But finally this German Pax wanted the third exit near Ngee Ann Polytechnic. According to her this will be the cheaper by using this last exit. But with those traffic lights still fare is the lowest.
So, not every routes is consider the the actual route to there. Even a written complain this kind of senerio, i think. we still can be protected of our Poor Road knowledge.Do you think so?
yup, as i said, that is the shortest but not fastest…
i never kena written complain b4… but i think unless it is clear cut much longer without good reason… should not get into trouble lah… for your example, not considered clear cut…
ask you… say bukit panjang to raffles place how u go? many ways… if i were a pax, i will ask the cabby to just take BKE-PIE-exit CTE northwards, u turn at bradell and back toCTE-havelock… smoothest…
but as a cabby, i will surely not take that cos sure kena left-right-centre from pax… most will want BKE-PIE-exit steven/thomson/or serangoon
Another from Far East Plaza to Jalan Bakar Batu.
which route you think is ideal.
I took u turn Scott road back to Newton than CTE exit Upper Serangoon toward PIE exit Kallang Way turn left to Jalan Bakar Batu.
So what is your comments about this route recommended by me if you are my pax Guru. What is your opinion.

Like ALN had said , if Cashew side , it's Petir Road into dairy Farm Road , BKE .

At Suntec City Tower 5, on board uncle Fifth Avenue.
Cold Storage, Yes.
Which way,
Anyway, sorry no anyway? you can decide yourself a choice.
Take Rex and all the way straight. She started to closed her two eyes.
So i do as instructed, Knn upon reaching Fifth Avenue i waked her up.

Knn just now you told Fifth Avenue now you tell Fir Avenue,
So where is Fir Avenue? lucky i know where.
just nearby so drive out another two street away.
.
Uncle Medicine Hotel?
Where got this Hotel named Medicine.
Really confused this afternoon.
From Habourfront one Myammar male passenger.
Do you know where?
Do make an effort to learn those ChinaTown area , those small roads , like Mosque St , Pagoda St , Pagoda lane , Temple St etc ....
Not difficult to see those roads , it's the one way that confuse all drivers , even to the most season drivers !
Like Keong Siak St , must go in by New bridge road .
Temple st must go in by New bridge road .
Mosque St must go in by South Bridge road . Come out into New bridge .
Just imagine this ....
Pax at Jurong want to go to Mosque St .
So u travel by AYE > Merchant road > right turn into New Bridge Road .
Then u go straight ! Alamak ! outside Mei Zhen Xiang cannot go into Mosque St !!!!
Then what ? One option , safest option , U infront u-turn , and right turn into Pickering , and right turn into South bridge Road , then go into Mosque St , meter jump , pax sure fuck u upside down !
Another option , risky one , customer alight outside Mei Zhen Xiang , then kena summon from LTA for not alighting pax at regulated taxi stand ! Main road cannot alight .
But inside Mosque St can alight .
All because u neglect the importance of one-way traffic .
Looked easy , when u made this mistake , cos of taxi fare , sure kena for nothing .
Inside CBD , one ur mistake can caused customer to pay more , when they pay more and complaint against u , u eventually will kena .
Like AMK , one pax wanna go Furama City centre @ Havelock .
U go by CTE > exit Havelock Road , then turn into Furama Hotel , right ? Very near , just after the court ?
Wrong !!
That way cannot excess into Hotel lobby .
Alight customer by the road ? Kena summon from LTA , alight pax at People Park centre t/s ? Too far !!
correct route : CTE > Havelock Road > New bridge Road > U-turn into Eu Tong Sen > Havelock Sq > Furama Hotel lobby .
This is another one way traffic example .
Another quickie for cabbies .
U will face many customers from inside CBD , go into cbd , via outside cbd .
Know what i mean ?
eg ..... Clarke Quay taxi stand , pax wanna go to Plaza singapura .
6pm , ERP $2 .
knn walk also can reach , but by taxi , pax need to pay $2 more on erp .
Alternative ?
U-turn go by River Valley > Hill Street > Coleman St > Armenia St > Stamford Road > Penang Road ( another ERP $0.50 )> Clemenceau Ave > Buyong Road > Orchard Road > Plaza Sing .
What will u do ?
Go have a think !!
some might think to save money for pax , and used the alternative , but in fact , pay $2 erp is cheaper than going into the alternative route .
So its not Medicine.
The actual hotel is Maddison Hotel at Beach Road.
So remember Maddison if someone mention it again.
Uncle Medicine Hotel?
Where got this Hotel named Medicine.
Really confused this afternoon.
From Habourfront one Myammar male passenger.

Tuas south ave 9 to Aye about $7.50 meter fare . Yeah that fare .
Tuas South Ave 9 to Jurong point is as good as Suntec to Tampines , if base on meter fare .

I can help you with Toa Payoh because I live there.
Heres how to remember: Lor 1 and 6 forms a big circle, almost surrounding the whole estate. Lor 1 is western and 6 is eastern. Also, lor 6 protrudes slightly to the north, going out to braddell road.
Then Lorong 2 and 4 run N-S in the circle (west to east)
Lorong 3 runs between Lors 2 and 4 near the north.
Toa Payoh Ctrl runs parallel to Lor 3, near the town centre.
Lor 5 runs East of Lor 4. It makes a "horseshoe" shape and returns back to Lor 4
Lor 3 and Ctrl intersections are both between Lor 5 intersections.
Toa Payoh East runs from Lor 5 to the east, intersects Lor 6 and goes on. Lor 7 starts at Toa Payoh East, goes north, crosses Lor 6 and ends at Lor 5.
Then Lor 8 starts at Lor 7, runs north and west, and then intersects the northern Lor 6 which links to braddell rd. There is also another Lor 8 leading out of it that connects to braddell rd (but not from)
Two ways to go to PIE: via Lor 2 or Kim Keat Link near Toa payoh stadium at Lor 6/4 intesection. Heading out east or coming in from west can use either one. Heading out west must use lor 2 one and coming in east must use Kim Keat Link. aka left turn = either, right turn = corresponding.
Also, remember one carpark in toa payoh. Its near Lor 7. It zooms all the way to Kim Keat Link area, go towards PIE. that one kinda confusing. Go out wrong way then very difficult to re-enter toa payoh liao. Muz loop towards CTE and then Braddell Rd.
If you remember this, you can drive to toa payoh already!

Honestly , i hated Sengkang for the way they set the road names ...what Compassvale Cresent , Rivervale St etc .....
The old road names system better , like AMK Ave 1 , Tampines St 32 , etc ....
Also i hated the what Edgefield Road , what field what field at Punggol ....
Honestly speaking , Punggol , being such a small estate , the best to use is to use it like Pasir Ris , The Main Road for Punggol is Punggol Road , then instead of Punggol Central , named it as Punggol Dr 3 , intsead of Punggol drive, rename it as Punggol Dr 1 , pararrel against each other .
Then those Edgefield whatever ...rename it as St 1 , or St 3 then st 5 and so on , again , pararrel to each other . St 2 ,4 ,6 on the other side .
Like that more simple for me .

"U got money pay me then i take !"
Nothing to frick ....
Bukit Batok West and Bukit Batok East is separated by the MRT track lor .....
I stayed at West Area all of my lives , so Bt Btk not really a big problem , in terms of block number .
St 51 , St 52 all the same , 500+ .....
See.... Bt Batok central , the MRT track that cut across ?
Near Jurong one is West Ave 6 , the other side is East Ave 3 .
So the main road of Bt Btk , is ...... East Ave 3 > Central > West Ave 6 , same road .
Before u hit one MRT track is East , once bypass MRT track , it's west , using the main road as a landmark .

Ave 1 is the link between Jurong East and Bt Batok , so nothing much i can say ....
I think they used Ave 1 as in the first road to access to Bt Batok from Jurong .
Dunno la , getting too chim liao .
Jurong East and Jurong West .... separated by a canal .
Jurong East Ave 1 & Jurong West Ave 1 - same road . Once u pass the canal , it's a different road name .
CCK and Yew Tee separated by a KJE .
Maybe newbies will kena a bit of Jurong West Xtension .
When customer said Jurong West , they mean the original Jurong West , as in St 42 , St 41 , St 51 , St 52 Ave 1 etc ...
But when the say NTU , meaning not the Uni itself , they're saying St 71 to St 93 area .
But when they said Jurong Point , they sometime dun really mean the shopping centres itself , they are saying those areas like St 61 , 62 , 63 , 64 , 65 side .
Take note la ...
Like the season Western Singaporeans , we really dun used Bt Panjang when get on-board a cab , we used ZhengHua .
Like aunite want to go Old Havelock Road , she dun use Old Havelock Road , she would say : "Au Kio Tao ! "
As in Black bridge head .
Old road names is more complex to know than current road names .
Ang Sar Lee ( red-zinc roof ) , is also known as Serangoon Garden . Old folk used that .
