My wife wnt to Taipei recently .... she came back said Taipei no taxi problems .
My Sis stayed in HK for a number of years , in HK , hand go out , surely got taxi ....
My brother went to New York , say New York no shortage of taxis .
Why Singapore must have such crap policy to keep the system moving ?
Instead of solving those obvious problems , like ERP issues for taxis , CBD boundary and COE for taxis , they targetted only at taxi drivers .
Anyway , i work base on the system , for my interests , THE END !
No Mercy , Ruthless ..... Customers service ? Nay ....
Who pay me and treat me nicely , will get my cab .

pls dun disturb the other colour taxis... esp those taxis with a yellow, red, blue logo decal... those taxis need to be deployed for other strategic purpose in line with ensuring availabilty of taxis in certain high pax volume places at certain crunch hours...

2pm to 3pm... $2 to $3 ERP to enter the city...
heavy traffic? got meh... if tat hour in town smooth sailing all the way... but why the fuck would I pay $2 go into town empty car to pick up a fare without incentivee?
when tons of pax at Ion, Far East... or juz Q at any hotels along havelock road...
6pm to 7pm... $3 ERP? siao ah... anyhow pick outde also hav pax... those pax in CBD at tat hour want rush home cook... watch tv... hav sex... pls call CDG...

After driving around in wet weather during the last few weeks in my Toyota Crown (No ABS) I now realise why TD do not want to drive in wet weather.
Within one month, I already did 2 'Tokyo Drift'. Lucky no accident. Now I very very careful, better still dont drive when heavy rain.

to offset the cost, got to WORK for 4-5 hours if lucky, if not lucky, as long as 10 hours also have, and is a daily basis, rain or shine.
there is no free ride, or even easy ride, transport in Singapore never come cheap for any types, there is effort and money to pay.

There are people using the Taxi as Private Transport.
On average, you pay about $X,000+ for a Taxi, per month. But if you drive at least 5 hours per day, about 100+ km, you can get it free, including the fuel..
On the other hand, a private car will have these main components of Depreciation, Tax, Parking, Maintenance, and Fuel. Which can easily come to $2000+ per month.

I am not pro-LTA, most of the rules they implement are crap, but I think this 250 km thing is meant to put more Taxis on the road without increasing the number of new Taxis.
Most of us here do more than 250km. We are the 'thang-jiak' ones. To 'earn a living'.
There are those who use the Taxi as a private transport. This rule is meant to remove those.
But,... there are also a small group that drives less than 250 km but also under the 'thang-jiak' category. They will be unfairly affected by the new rulings. So,.. they will have to think of a way to go around it.
250 km is a modest number, to remove the 'idle' Taxis.

if i have a desk bound job in shenton way from 9 to 5. All i need is to relief as day fr 6am to 6am. best if can find 8am to 8pm lagi better.interview one from my home or carpool to work place than after work interview one go back home than hand over shift to hirer.
no need buy car.
as and when i need a car got a pool of hirer i can choose to relief.
why even bother to buy car when i dont even get to drive it all the time
Lets not forget to those using taxi as private car...the metality is different...to them making 1k from driving taxi is as good as a 3k to 4k job outside on top of owning a car.

Just like the guy who claimed to earn $7,000 per month, all of you should unite and feedback to your company on the new ruling.
If you just make noise here, no one will know whether the stated limit is workable as they set it using statistics or research.
As for 70% not meeting the target each month, the taxi company can only pay fine and I dun think they can change the driving habit of some old timer taxi drivers.
This policy look good on paper and just show the authority have done their work in stating the limit and fine.
But, the taxi company will end up paying the fine as they cannot force the drivers to meet the requirements unless they confiscate the cab for not meeting requirements.

All problems lies between 2-3pm ERP charge at CBD and 6pm to 6.30pm $3 ERP .

Like last night 60,000 audiences at Floating platform watching concert .....
Just take 10% to catch a cab home ... in an hour , done .

And end up places like CCK , Bukit Panjang , Bukit Batok Woodlands Sembawang not enuf taxis .
who the fuck will want to go to Sembawang from Shenton Way for that $3.20 starting fare ?

Taxi flag down shouldn't be $3.20 .
$3.20 is for me to interview type of prices ..... ie pay me go where i wanna go , not where they wanna go .

That is what happened when u down peak hour surcharge from 30% to 25% ..... and from 330m to 400m per $0.22 jump .
They created those structures , they face the music , clear cut .
Last time where got such problems ?

No lah, flag down $5 too much already. $4.00 flag down jump at $0.30. Peak hour surcharge 30%. Less people take taxi, so enough taxi to support. Problem solve. Everyday drive 8 hrs can go home already. -
