offset the diesel comsumtion of chevy 10km/L (worst 8.3km/L) merc can do 3km or more per liter.
Taking 300km/day, chevy is 30L while merc is 21-23L (saving of $10)
Press meter extra $0.50 than chevy, 20trips already extra $10
Per jump $0.33, extra 50% about $15?

CDG kept the meter unchanged becos, if they adjust the current rate to $0.33, the rest of the existing older fleet of 700plus will be affected as well.
As u can see that there are alot of rejection by passengers for Chrysler Taxi, the change will hurt off the rest of the Limousine fleet.
Now that SMRT will be replacing their older fleet (which is about near to their 8 years lifespan), if they make a change for $0.33, then, CDG Mercedes fleet will be FORCED to change as well.
Just wait.... it will be a BIG SHAKEUP if SMRT creates a surprise move. -

cdg is a Taxi Company, not Taxi Driver, hence will not throw a stone on their own feet
cdg will adjust the meter towards their benefit
by adjusting the meter to 0.33 per jump,
1) they no longer able to place limo cab to support their normal calls
2) to have this new merc to join blackie into the rejection fleet, both driver will die eventually and affect cdg and smrt. (they're brother)
3) their existing limo rate for hsbc customer got to adjust, you think they want to pay you more
smrt will not be that hero to put up a 0.33c jump for the same type of vehicle to challenge cdg, the ceo will get into trouble beside his still existing MRT trouble.
They still working with supply and demand principle, when did they work out welfare and lifestyle approach.
