it's not about me
"I feel this is much more about Tottenham . Taking it as a individual situation is not fair on me ."
- Andre Villas-Boas , on the game being a chance for Spurs to avenge Chelsea's gaining of a European spot this year , rather than a grudge match over his sacking by the Blues earlier .
Unfortunately i said numerous times , i seriously need some more videos of other examples of reckless driving from other taxi companies ....
It is very hard to come by .
It is unfortunate .
There is always some similiar response from my pax whenever there was an accident , most surely will say : " There must be one taxi involve ! "
Cos it is true any accident , most chained accident , there must be at least one taxi involve , why ? And most likely "unfortunately" , there will be one Sonata or Sampan .
And we must change that .
Not overnight , but gradually .
Slowly .
My driving instructor taught me it is safest if u see from the right mirror , the whole car behind ( including the view of the head light behind ) , then it is safest to overtake or filter in .
Actually it's when you can see the whole car on your rear mirror, then it's the safest time to change lane.
Anyway talking about defensive driving, imo majority of drivers who have never driven big vehicles before will be too complacent about road safety. I used to be in the minority category, until I joined smrt as bus driver, starting from driving normal 12m bus to bendy bus. Everyday ferry hundreds of paxs, a lot of lives in my hands thus I learn to be defensive and patient. So my motto is 'when can go fast, step oil, when cannot, drive slow. Road familiar, step more oil, road not familiar, go slow. ' Some more the older buses all not installed with speed limiters de, so it is very tempting to chiong. Real exciting speeding with bus compared to car lol. Sometimes kana drive svc 172 time, speed all the way from old Cck stretch till Jalan Bahar very shiok one.
I still drive fast now but in a defensive way, if that makes sense lol.

what abt for box lorries some sbs double decker bus which u cannot see the rear at all?
The rear mirror theory I used was in relation to driving cars la in reply to poolman's earlier post. Of course bus (all kinds of buses not only double deckers) and those box lorries and those military 5ton trucks etc etc have to depend on side mirror la...
u know the tricks in regard of parking big vehicles where u cannot see the rear and dun have the aid of reverse camera?
Dunno leh. Simi tricks?

I know....call bangala or any kaki around to jaga for you behind. When almost touch liao give a few hard bang on the side and shout...OOEEEIIIIII to signal you to stop....
this one i can call my delivery assistant to look out for me. so simple. but there are times that i will have to drive alone...so i really wanna know what are the perfect sighting point of parking
Important never to depend on reverse sensors as all sensors have a blind spot, especially if you coming in from an angle and the area reversed into is not a flat or smooth surface.
For big vehicles you can do 2 things
1) Get down and observe the spot you are gonna reverse into
2) When reversing, open the door and look behind, whilst monitoring the mirrors.
There are no prizes for parking in 1 movement. Even if you take 5 goes to make it, so what, better safe than sorry.
