  If you use air horn it's illegal

  Air Horn, uses a compressor to pump air into horn to generate sound.

  

  Most people think this one air horn:

  

  it's actually not and it's legal. Yes its louder, but since the tone is lower it has shorter reach.. On highway at speeds you horn vehicle, the vehicle in front sometimes don't realise which direction the horn coming from.

  I prefer snail type horn for use in city area, where speed is low and vehicle close together.

  Loudest electric automotive horn so far IMO is this:

  Most air horn or snail type horn rated at 110db - 118db, so supertone easily louder

  But since it uses a compressor to generate the sound it is clasified under air horn so illegal in singapore.

  Best is if can install snail horn and supertone and make a switch, so on hoghway use supertone, in city area use snail type.

  Oh yah, all the horn above last time i tried before but not on a taxi.. For road legal lah, for taxi different thing cos the cab don't belong to you. So if cab catch fire, even if the horn did not cause it, cab company might say u change horn that's why fire started...

  Change to Mercs loh....our horn quite loud one....Or you can go buy Mercs horn to change should be legal....

  ya, last night at tras street going straight one blue sonata just shoot out from the side street that link to tanjong pagar. i did an e brake and that guy also e brake and show me this. SHC 2385 R.

  knn tis afternoon went comfort renew my TVDL.............. tis SILVER kia

  knn juz come out frm the small lane of the workshop went to turn right liao

  dun even see me coming on straight............ lucky i ebrake in time in not

  confirm OBK liao...................... some more the silver kia can still tiao at me

  like i nber give way to him PHUi!!!  SILVER hor................
