That's solely my personal opinion .
Some power one can get more , some weaker one can get less .
As a whole , cabby's salary cannot escape that bracket one .

yah,i must admit OMO plus driving this lousy Nissan Cedric make me have no life!face rejections everywhere!even when desperate paxs take my cab,also very demanding and don't respect u,oder u to drive fast and never say a word of thanks after trip.some even after take out their barang-barang fr car boot,don't bother to close for u!

lowest cost of operation does not equal to the best choice
there is a reason why it become lowest cost, esp it is in the market for some time
Many people tested, proven and rejected, operator got to lower the price to lure people in.
Taxi Driving is a sole proprietor job, income will only be generated when you work, and the moment you are not working, sick or any reason, this Taxi is eating you, it is a liabilty.
So the profit generate when you work, should be reasonable enough to compensate for the rainning days.
i have this formula as a guideline
Gross Income = 2 X Operation Cost (rental + fuel) @ 10 hrs time frame
When if falls less then this formula......... it's below resonable rate, i will chop.
That is why i quit OMO and become a relief
Only the operation cost of begin a relief can meet my formula target or even exceed
Only when meeting with this formula target, there is lifestyle you can look into it.
Yet, your lifestyle are still determine by your income, so live within your mean
Nowsaday, i drive very little, 4 to 5 hrs to meet my formula target........ the rest of my time, it's life and exploring new venture, for new income. And hopefully to get out of Taxi Driving soonest.

it is the peak hr with city surcharge from 5- 12pm make the diff..even u omo, 4-12am 8hr must be ur fixed timing...

It was what happen to me when i omo last few days. Think of it also scare. drive before sun rise till sun set. From dark untill very dark dark.
For that little money. Reach home tired like a piece of dead meat. For me difficult to see open, work extra hour means i must get more than what i usually get. But it didn't, i die die don't surrender still not get back what i should have.
When my hirer come back call me hear my voice like want to die want to cry, he was like so shock, keep asking me "what happen? what happen to you?"
Hahahaaha, this women no use one!

But I have been OMOing for so many years leh..........
But 1 thing on driving taxi.......family cannot suka suka disturb your driving hour, you had to be the 1 controlling all the timing..........
Than you will find that, OMOing not that bad after all.........

it's seem like you are always getting thi kind of shit since you start driving maybe you need to change your mindset about driving a taxi let say starting by changing you current taxi to a better one cheapest taxi rental does not transform to better earning the more you complain about being a taxi driver, maybe it will give you negative thinking n result (maybe) all this to happen which you are facing . think about it and see you would like to make some adjustment, maybe it would help you from no life to some life and than to better life like poolman, always playing badminton idle, hide under coconut tree relax but still have reasonable collection -

den godson call say take pay liao... want treat ah pa dinner... me say eat dinner liao... end up he bring me go for massage... note: no hanky panky type... den supper...
me go home still hang sign... found pax to pay for my trip home... hee hee...

drive till no connection... end up in tech whye... park the cab go visit friend's temple... look see their nine emperor celebrations...
den catch up with another group of friends who happen to drop by the temple... so dinner together...
after dinner... go lim chu kang see my dogs... otw out tot head home... mdt bling me one lim chu kang call!... ha ha... although go nearby... but also shiok..
depend on yourself to create the life u want...
best is... most of the time can find pax pay for the trip to your desination.. hee hee...

Some rental 2 ... some throw 3 ....

Your calculations are quite close. But in order to get this amount during this timing in the day, you must be always on the move; meaning little or no breaks. 6am to 4pm (10 hours).

Ai ya u win some, u lose some. Last month i throw 10 days rental. June throw 26 days cos mother in hospital, just don't feel like driving.This month already 3 days off.
Sometime I think back "O" level. How much can I earn working for others? Average out $2000 to $2500 monthly is good enough. Where can suka suka work, suka suka don't work.

Never heard of a taxi driver throw 26 days rental in a month.You might be able to afford it. But others cannot. Please write the book.
