Newbie on the road

As suggested by most of the lao jiao, tomorrow going to CDG register with Hirer after having my TDVL for 2 weeks and also CDG Auto, MDT course arranged
Seach and match for hirer are not that easy but need compromise with each other. Hopefully can start driving tomorrow night to learn the trade.
Will be driving on Mon - Fri night shift 6pm - 6am and Sunday day shift, Hope lao jiao on the road can pang chang abit and if can pls provide some advise.
Will report back 2 weeks later.

Had been driving for many years, but hor lao jiao said driving Taxi are difference from driving pte car, there are many trick and things to learn.

Ah Hang , car driving and taxi driving totally different , bear this in mind .
U drive a car , other cars wouldn't jack u .
When u drive a cab , u signal no one give way to u .

Drive a cab must loon ..... no give way it's okay . Keep the composures , relax .
Keep the signal running .... until one give way , if still no one give way , then "i'm sorry" lor ......
Taxi driving must possess really good driving skills , both defensive and daring method .
Or ruthless method .
No morons type of driving we seen on the road , no ...... no way ! but more daring to what's right what's wrong on the road .
If no one give way despite using signal for almost 2km , then must be gutsy liao .
Cannot like kitten scared scared

First few days of drivng , observe more on how other road users see us on the road ?
Their manners , reactions , attitude and driving styles towards taxi drivers .
Once u understood those road cultures between cabbies and the rest , it's easier to drive happily .
Some gave up cos they got frustrated on the road .

Aiyo ..... dun scare him lah ...... now from Monday to Thursday midnight , any pax will do .
As long as they paying money , we can solve any problems . Better than like lost souls on the road .

Aiyo Ah Hang ar , very seldom gays start kissing each other inside the cab , but if u insist on going to Neil Road area , then u will have higher chance to pick such paxes .
if u go to Office Tower or MBS areas , very rare one .
Lesbians have lah , but they usually keep low profile one .

Night drivers .... after 12mn business is secondary . More to luck for some . I dun believe luck , so i go home around 12mn .
Most important is what u can do between 5pm to 11pm .
if 5pm to 11pm chui ..... midnight how good also cannot save u .
Still will chui hhahahahah .
Aiyo u will learnt lah ....
But dun call me as Mentor , ct2220 call me mentor also , but most recent treatments he got from me it's Mental Torture .

Now a lot of continental cars on the road Expensive cars See taxi sure Siam and give way They scare of taxi Those nasty to taxi are mostly jap type r example Honda type on the road you will also know another group That will not give way to you. Other taxis Sunday you day shift, Mon you night shift Your sleep may be affected Not a good arrangement Better still drives Mon to sat night shift.

All Lao Jiao advise. Thank you vary much.I will start my kind and honest soul on the road till I am much familia with the Trade. Once settle down the devil horn will start to grow. Hahaha
Khoon Blog, Sotong Blog and etc..... are vary helpful to newbie. I had learned many things from their blog. Tonight will be my first practical test and wish me luck.

Yes i saw it...in front is a crown but pax dont want and instead hopp in mine. i ask why did not take in front...pax say so noisy and seat not comfortable...pay extra 40cents can get great soft seat and less creaky gear noise sounds..ohh like that one arr...

First Day started around 4pm with Hirer input the operation of Taxi Meter and MDT for about 30 min. Move out around 5pm to look for place nearby to makan before start sweeping.
First 1 hour driving with "BUSY" to familia with the car and decide to pick up my FIRST pax at Bukit Panjang to Bendemeer and with connection to Bugis, not to bad for the start.
My first place to visit in CBD was Plaza Singapura and the luck was not to bad, pick up 2 Ah Nia which 1 going to Baleastir and the other to Kembangan.
Since I am at East side so decided to tried Airport, to my surprised the Taxi Q was long and moving vary fast, I am out within 15 min to TP.
After that png for about 4 trips and break for 30 min.
The worst was after 1am, every place long long Q of Taxi. MBS I guess there are around 100+ waiting for pax. Check on the Smartphone know that some plane landing soon, no need to think liao out ECP to AP.
After the AP Trip with 1 more png and called it a day with empty car back home.
Collection was not that great but for my first day OTR, I am happy with it. Without formal Taxi meter and MDT training I just lu lu all the way.....

Dont worry, undercharge take it as learning experience. Don't overcharge can liao.
Once in a while u will get customer that will pay what they normally pay even when u undercharge, like me once.
Pax from Upp East Coast to PSA building in the morn.
Reach destination my meter cleared instead of stop. Check MDT lucky got record, MDT showed $16
Me: Sir sorry my meter cleared ah just now, i think it's $16 (show him MDT)
Pax: cannot be so cheap ah! Just now we pass ERP.
Me: Yes ERP $2 i remembered.
Pax: Then make it $18 lor.
Me: Ok.
Pax: Nevermind i give u $19.
Me: Ah, ok. (a bit scared, cos PSA building home of Ministry of Transport and this guy look familiar and few months back i was at MOT office whole day, so maybe he work for MOT)
Pax: As long as u think enough, i'm ok one.
