Dishonest Taxi Driver

I was accused of being a Dishonest Taxi Driver. Picked up pax at Upper Serangoon (near Kovan) wanting to go to Flora Road. I was like huh!.Then he said go by TPE. OK. Only TPE connection I know is by Seng Kang > TPE.I told him the route and he said OK.
When I pased Tampines Road, he asked why I never turn. I told him I can U-Turn and go back but he said it is too long and go by my way. My way is GPS. I told him GPS shows 2km++ to TPE. U-turn to Tampines only few meters. He said go my way.
My way to TPE is by Sengkang until TPE. Half way pax make noise. Then he call me dishonust Taxi Driver. That is where I dropped him at Seng Kang and told him to take another taxi. With all my dis-honesty, I did not collect a single cent from him.

Passengers! If you take a taxi and the driver says he does not know how to go, you have the choice of taking another taxi, or directing the driver.

but anyway,kovan to flora best way is Tampines rd-kpe-tpe-loyang exit

Comfort Delgro. When Passengers complain about Taxis taking long route, don't pass judgement from your armchair with Google Maps and send warning letters to your taxi drivers.
Trust me when I say this.
CDG! Your maps are worse than Google Maps.

I already have a warning letter from CDG for taking a longer route. Like I did it on purpose.
That is why I dare say! that those CDG armchair executives, have never driven a car, leave alone a cab! before.

Comfort Taxi queue at Airport for 1 hour. Finally get pax going to Pasir Ris. Can he drive to Jurong and then come back to Pasir Ris to increase his meter fare?
If there was a fixed charge, would he do that?

Meter Fare vs Non Meter Fare.
Let's compare the pros' and cons'
Meter Fare, pax eyes on meter when they should be concentrating on route TD is taking. Even if pax tell TD which route to take and end up in jam, they still blame TD because Singapore Law is by meter and TD should know which routes are jammed. TD take jammed routes based on pax instructions, TD gets warning letter if pax complains.
Non Meter Fare. Pax and TD agree on a fixed amount from point A to B. Pax like Chriss Reed will have nothing to complain about.
But tihis will lead to Accounting problems in Singapore. How to know how much TD uncles really earn???

Bro PS2U... u not dishonest lah... juz didn't double check with the idiot pax his prefered way up to TPE...
if kovan mrt taxi stand... opposite heartland mall... turn right into (old) tampines rd...
but need to do a sharp cut accross 4 or 5 lanes... (sometimes if traffic dun allow - will tell pax... turn left into simon rd to u-turn)...
den KPE... TPE... some pax prefer go by old old tampines rd... tampines ind ave 5... tampines ave 10 den up TPE...
if at heartland mall side... turn left to hougang st 21... do dangerous 3 point turn... turn right back to upp seranagoon... den as above...
or can hougang st 21... all the to the end... left to hougang ave 1... den right to (old) tampines rd... den as above...
or can call khoon or JLKL (tis fellow expert in hougang sengkang) if driving in the day...

From your description, your taxi head should be pointing north in upper serangoon road
Flora road is on right side,
heading to TPE via sengkang is towards left side
Whearas heading to TPE via tampines road , KPE , is towards right side, is definately shorter ...
The only way to prevent such unpleasant encounter is to brush up on route knowledge , and through experience, no short cuts, once pax say the destination, within 1 to 2 seconds taxis muz move, within 3 to 4 seconds, in your mind muz know which is the best route to take, when reaching the first approcaching junction, your taxi head muz point towards the correct direction, where got time to key in this and that, or check dis or dat ?

Aiya pax are like that one. That's why I always confirm route before proceeding. If he says ok SK/TPE then you can F him back mah....But hor that is really a longer route. Why not you ask him how much he normally pay or auto discount him. As least everyone happy right? Few dollars disocunt treat it as a lesson learn loh...

not only longer route....the route got so many traffic light...if u're the pax also kpkb..

i support u!most paxs know that taxi coys will be on their side!i also like that paxs complainng too much about routes,i even drop them at their correct destination and refuse to collect the fare,left them either feeling very happy or guilty conscience!Heaven knows!

this is a form of taxi fare evasion which some taxi coys are inadvertently encouragng it!this is one of the ploys use by some taxi cheats!!!

my only advise go find a map, hard copy or online type sometime after finishing your driving, recall some trip taken which not sure (pax kpkb or not) look at the the map ,see beside the road you took, any other route available or not which could be a better route. look at area you not familar, study a bit on the area, it would help you in your driving faster and cheap route can translate to faster income

How come your gps dun show u Tampines Road to TPE ? Never update ? Hahahahah

Forever u will learn that from Kovan to Floral road , u know which route to take .

kovan to tpe thru sengkang really a bit too far . dun worry keep gps at home and learnt those ways like how u learnt yesterday .
if i were u , i not sure , i wouldn't propose anything , i would use :" bro show me the way i no very good at hougang always lost , new driver just start two weeks ago ."

Ts if you miss the first rigth to Tampines Rd, you can make the second right at Hougang Ave 3.

This type of situation where ownself sub-standard, kena from pax also hv to LL take it lah....
Like me today, 10+ yrs TD liao, mind blur-blur not sharp, foreign chinese couple united sq to bird park, whack thomson/pie/clementi ave 6/aye.Fare $16.40.
Pax drop, jap family wanna go united sq. So whack aye/cte/moulmein. Fare $17.00.
If kena complain also LL no defense lah...
For me, think back, correct route shd be bt timah rd/adam rd/queensway/aye and vice versa.

TS have fell for the pax's ploy. the pax mostly likely wanna go sengkang, but being a cheapo pulled out this stunt.

GPS is only for reference. For places that u never heard of and pax also don't know the way. U only need to know where the place is near to then from experience use your own route. Been using GPS since 2nd week after start driving taxi. No problem till now, WHY? I never follow GPS. Only need to know where is the exact location. Not sure, ASK. Sometimes I too lazy to think, I tell pax Sorry, I am not famaliar with that place. Then they will guide u. Till now I still do that, WHY? You can sense from the way your pax act and talk. Whether taiko type or not, u will know. Then there are some who knows only one way to his/her destination. U take another way then to them u are dishonest though shorter route.

Yes , by asking and communicating , u can judge customers good or not .
This is experience .
Finally i found one that understood the trick of communciations .

Sit down there talk with Cash Lee she come also bo chap siow whack one summon $50 for me .
But i used by golden mouth appeal , say i helping customers unload goods to his house , park at parking lot because not obstructing traffic .... and get Cash Lee's address as reference , and give them Cash Lee's handphone number as witness .
