Airport Surcharge - to charge or not

Fetched a Ft today near bus stop outside budget terminal.
Thought of waiving the surcharge since so near the boundary and also his pay probably not much.
On reaching destination, he asked for receipt. So I no hesitation liao, hit the $3.
The chap (nice and mild-mannered) complained that he was never charged and offered to show me all his receipts. Said wait he kena from his boss. I said ask yr boss check with cdg or lta if he wants.
Finally I said, no surcharge, can, no receipt, want receipt must pay surcharge. End up he still grumbling when paying the fare.
So the point is, fellas, if pax can claim from boss, why the discount??
Wanna drive cab, where/when can collect extras must fingertips. Dunno must find out!
If waiving surcharge as goodwill, must let pax know else will create more confusion.

pax ask for receipt, normalli i collect full amount unless i make mistake while going the wrong way or miss the turn. then it is different sorry. why take advantage of td when they can claim, no such thing one

Budget terminal area now left the catering building, if show your all the receipts also cannot prove anything. Think the so call foreigner pax is just one of the stafa from the sats catering hailing a cab to go somewhere. If he can claim should charge accordingly, still within the airport boundary.

Aiya if he claim from boss he also cannot cheat the $3 pocket himself. If says AP so many green light heng heng pick and go from outside then ok lah. Also must see destination. If good dest then I dun charge loh. If kanna $*#^@#*% location then I charge loh....

Actually if not sure , whether or not to issue receipt , is another issue .

Yes i agree with poolman. So u r one of those who might cause hazard to others. I will nvr pick. Is against LTA law already. If i were u, I won't even post it here.

The pax not working for sats lah, looks like IT chap....going to chai chee rd.
As for airport boulevard, who says it is an expressway?? Read carefully about the receipt..it is not about being not sure.
I know my onions, where got extras, where dun. It's about other tds who are not sure, give discount even when pax can claim.

Really? I didn't know that you cannot pick up pax along semi-expressway.
Please note that airport boulevard is a semi-expressway and the spots that both the other 2 expressways start.

Yes within the boulavard, surcharges still apply, next time, just charge, talk so much for what? All these atas indian FT alway like to cut this and that..knn. Some of them are given transportation allowances, if they use less, company reimburse the excess, on the other hand, this cheapo must be thinking there got no surcharge.

i should be one of the newest td, tdvl get last nov.
this question asked many time and lta inst. answer was look at the airport boundary map. within the zone, charge. police station also charge.
the bt bus stop is not considered expressway yet. expressway starts about 50-100m after the bus stop.
all the tiger crew and pilot and engineer use to take from the bus stop. you work at the airport you know very well about the ap surcharge. no need bs the td

Why those SATS staffs and airport crews wait for taxis over there is either they lazy to walk all the way to the stand or stays Tampines or Pasir Ris afraid kena black face from those TDs queing at the stands...
Now BT gone liao, should see more ppl waiting for taxis at that bus stop, but beware of enforcement ohpuisers lor...

Charge why don't charge ? the road is called airport boulevard still have surcharge.they dont want to go taxi stand and dont want to on-call,still want to save airport surcharge?i pick one pinoy at bus stop she say no airport surcharge,i say have she dont want pay i no pick.cannot spoil market,have mean have,no have mean no have.i only charge what i deserve.

From the TDVL course instructor told me as long within boudary can charge. From the looks of it, you should charge.. But during course they also say not to pick up pax from that bus stop cos a lot of camera recording and by law we not suppose to stop within 9m of bus stop.
For the question about claim, different company different style. My last job, boss close eye. I can't claim from home to job site, but i always put from office to job site when in fact i take cab from home. All my other colleague do same, i think my boss also know but he don't care, reason we put from office is for finance department.
But another company i work for very strict, if let's say i take from point A to point B everyday, if fare differs slightly ok. If differ a lot without justification, ie traffic jam etc.. The company only will reimburse me the usual amount. If let's say go in additional ERP gantry finance will question why.
Sometimes the company finance department go as far as checking the fare online to see correct or not.
If one colleague take from point A to Point B @$20 and my fare same point also comes to $25, they will only allow me claim $20.
So thats why most people can claim one prefer going same route everyday, even if suddenly got shorter cheaper route along the way. If not claim delay a lot of explaining to do to finance dept, etc..
I guess most of the time that pax take from there without airport surcharge, cos TD thought only at AP taxi stand can charge extra. So if he were to submit claim again with xtra, sometimes the finance department won;t pay him for that xtra $3
Reason he unhappy cos that $3 will come out from his pocket, if everyday take taxi 5 days week then 1 month extra $60 from his pocket

He said he took cab from same place regularly. I think he can only claim once a week or month.
Two things came into my mind at that time...he either wanna save for his boss to look good or being a FT, always kena left/right/centre from his bosses.

The reason I started this thread was because I kena from one Lau-ka-kui-kaw (action-packed) FT recently.
Outside tradehub 21 wanna go to 21 Jln buroh .
me: do you know the place? (jln buroh not easy to find address)
him: yes, right behind bird park (me wondering if he knew how big bird park is).
me: go by aye exit jurong pier rd?
him: I told you it's behind bird park right? (he became irritated, obviously dunno the way but dun wanna admit)
So no choice, just went to toh tuck ave u-turn, then whacked jurong town hall/west coast road/penjuru/jln buroh, slowly find, then u-turn at pioneer rd junction.
On reaching wanna pay by credit card.
him: this way so much shorter, cheaper by $2 to $3. Just now you came by which way ah...
me: best way is aye exit pioneer circus, shorter and quicker
him: no, no, this way better, I can save money for my boss. (as if he knows the route better than me and pay by credit card wanna save?)
me: just go by jln buroh lor...(so you wanna slower way so can tuang more and also cheaper so look good to your boss?)
So fellas, DUN let the FTs look good to their bosses at TD's expense!

FT especially Indian, die die must charge. Cannot give chance.
They everything also pay by card la, $5 also pay by card. Not their money what - company reimburse.
You think they would agree to even pay the NETS 30cts fee if their own cash? Hah, even that they will try to save, if pay by their own cash.
This $3 airport thing is depends la, sometimes you get some airport workers rushing to go home after a tiring day, or miss the bus, these are locals you can tell not earning the big bucks type at the airport. This one can forgo la since they are paying their own cash, plus you're actually leaving the airport empty handed because the queue super long.
But yaya papaya one cannot give face, I really don't like when pax say other drivers say can, why you cannot? Like this surely must charge, but if they explain that company don't allow claim for surcharges or cab fare has certain limit - anything over their own, this one if say nicely can entertain.
Or sometimes I meet them half-way, I say ok I won't charge you full $3, maybe charge $1.50 to $2.00, minus this amount from the final fare (included the $3 already).
