CCTVs in taxis?

Some foreign TD works for the company as an employees, just like bus driver, so they need to monitor their driver action and position, their drivers just drive what is dispatched to them, obk or huat, just take a monthly salaries, with annual leaves and other working benefits. Ours is more like a consigment business, rent you the cab, you go find food yourself, meaning paid first, then talk

Not just single or dual, but sometimes up to 4 cameras, and some models allow remote download of video thru MDT. So if got case, just call the company and they remotely download the video or images from head office.
These taxi cameras have been around not for 1-2yrs, they have been in use since 1999. So can say Singapore more then 10yrs slower in implementing such systems.
You can download the video file from the individual product page to view how the video/images are captured.
Singapore, no taxi company willing to fork out the cost of installing such CCTV. Taxi Driver welfare is the lowest priority here.
That is why i buy my own dual lens DVR, record front and back.
How can u compare Singapore Taxis to Other Countries where guns are freely available....?
Some passengers carry guns to rob taxi drivers....
Some taxi drivers carry guns to rob passengers.....

I have been in the industry for a decade liao....
but never seen a TD or Limo driver having a CCTV in their cars leh....(pointing inside)..
only those pointing out (Front & Back) at the traffic (to record road conditions).

Mine pointing front (road) and rear (pax), and I'm not the only TD with such dvr, seen one TD with 4 cams. Just last month post a thread with vids, you drive 10yrs never take my cab mah... LoL.

Bro Cyben764, I also driving myself..... (Pte Limo)... no need to take cab...
Yes, I have a kaki, driving a Pte Viano too... Left, Right, Front, back... but never pointing at passengers. (all pointing to observe road condition). He spend around $1,200 on the cameras (made in Korea).

Don't like to spent something on car which don't belong to me.........
You bent me, I bent you.......all I report, no need to argue with me........leave all to the expert to decide..........

Think that's the camera system I wanted to buy, front and rear with parking mode recording Singapore retail for $600, but I got lobang with shipping at about half the price same Korea made. Think brand is visiondrive -

Police urge recording, LTA disallow filming of pax. Police prefer cos make their job easier, LTA don't like cos invasion of privacy. To me want privacy buy own car. -

Taxis are also Public Transport! or is it considered Private transport by LTA?
To me want privacy buy own car.
Maybe LTA not paying their staff enough to buy their own car, which is why they want privacy when they take taxis.
I agree with the police in this situation.
