Drove the Crown for the last time yesterday.
Wow I remember back in those days when it first came out, not bad the model has been around for nearly 20 years.
Good experience to drive manual after so many years again. But for me no problem, switching from manual to auto, the trick is to always let your left foot rest on the raised platform on the extreme left (where the clutch is supposed to be).
That platform not for fun, it actually helps in sudden braking as your transfer the pressure to your feet to the left foot and thus your right foot on the brake has lesser pressure - something I learnt from Police driving = less chances of skidding (if your vehicle has no ABS).
From next week all the way auto - so I guess the era of driving manual has ended for me.

I drove Toyota Corona all over Malaysia and it was really a good car for long distance drive. Toyota Crown was regarded like the Japanese ‘Mercedez’ car in the past.
I drove the Corona as a police car - fabulous and steady vehicle, arguably the best ever patrol car the police have ever had (discounting of course TP cars).
Pity though it didnt have aircon then.
For TP, their best ever I think was the BMW 320. Small car but packed power with a real punch.

No lah, I have been driving auto for years, therefore switch back and forth is because I have 2 different hirers. Now the Crown has to be scrapped and that will be the last time I will drive a manual cab. Those days all manual.
Now all auto, of course auto easier, so lets see how the new Sonata is, never drove a brand new one, but suprisingly the rent is at 102, i thought will be like 115.

For Crown to scrap and change into Sonata........CDG already budget in long long time ago liao.........so the rental already been set.........
CDG are big organization, they are not that smelly like some had said............
Ultimately all the Crown will be history, whether CDG had already budget in the rest, pray hard loh..........yours I think should be last year budget one.........
What crowns will be history, you never see the new crowns, more nicer and chio than that so nai tar, just that cdg cannot afford the budgets, all focus on korean cars. knn
