going to police might not help anything...what can the police do? unless can prove to them these kids has the "intention" to cheat.
what i feel is to get the parents or someone to pay for them and case close..or print receipt and sign IOU and phone number since got the student pass particulars already..can?

The girls did try to pay using EZ Link cards but they were not accepted because they were Student EZ LinkCards. Student Cards are accepted on buses but not Taxis. Whose Fault? CDG can even accept China Union cards but not Student EZ Link Cards. Whose Fault?
Comfort Delgro Driver Jack Tay! should have driven them to Sin Ming! to get his equipments updated! as suggested by them.

Initially thought the pax were in the wrong, then read the whole story, my thinking is... if you use aggressive tactics to pursue the matter, even if you are in the right, you will make the situation worst. human instinct is fight or flee in such situations, in this case, the girls flee, what if it was a bunch of losers who fight back and took the opportunity to rob the driver?
for a small amount of money, and given the age range of the girls, i think $20 or less is not worth all these troubles. if managed properly, the situation would have resolved itself nicely, and saves the girls problems, and saves the TD time... his time is money.
all the time he spent to stomp, go to police station, etc... i think his time would have earned him at least $100. moreover this is a case of suayness, where the machine broke down... it's not like the girls wanted to run, but given their age, they are probably scared to death...

Whatever method, even both are at fault, paying of fare is a must, if TS is not going to pursue a less than 20pts fares, what do you think those girls will be thinking??
They will be thinking, well, can so easily get away, let try again next time, and the next time could be you or me.
Just like chicken rice and after eating, do not want to pay, the seller may think, ok lah, only $4, forget it, dun make a mess out of it, then other saw it, also do not want to pay, how??

Aiya just get hold of their Student Pass EZ-link then have particular already. Then ask them for contact number and give them some grace period to pay the fare then collect back the Student Pass if not tell them you will report to police and the school. They sure scare one mah.

Sometimes pax tell me uncle i don't have enough money. I always say just give me what you have and i will send u home. These u won't meet everyday. Maybe once in a month or maybe two.
Give and take in life. Why so serious? Sometime people gave me extra, sometime I give back. Like last night $12 fare give me $20 and keep the change. My last trip $34.50, I said $30 can already. Pax ask me why????? Happy mood. Start 5pm End 4pm. Income sama sama Friday.
Just a note: Your mood will affect your income. Take it easy.

But it's the principle, why allow people to cheat?
You think it's the first time they are cheating, maybe it's the first time they were caught but not the first time.
It's not a question of money, I have given free rides too, huge discounts etc, but to deserving people. Once an old lady asked me to send her near Geylang Lor 22 to Circuit Road, she was in her 70s, missed her last bus, but she asked beforehand and never forced, said if cannot never mind. This kind, we can consider and forego. She is an old lady, shouldnt be forced to walk or wait until 6am. Could give her the benefit of doubt.
Similarly I have given kids a ride home after missing the last bus with whatever cash they had on them even if doesnt meet the full fare, we think of them as our own children, who we dont want to be wandering the streets late at night.
But these girls did it at 8 or 9pm, when all the resources for going back were there. They were plain selfish and thought they could get away with it. They must be taught a lesson and also to warn others who have similar ideas.
Anyway lose an hour or 2 to teach them also no problem, how often do we encounter this kind of cases? Money can be earned back but the lesson must be taught.

Yeah, talking about old ladies. 2am Brought one from chinatown to yishun near swimming pool. Guess what???? told me no money to go home only got $10. So, pity her send her home. On reaching destination, she ask me to send her to Northpoint Mcdonalds. Guess what???? She said she hungry, wants to go Mcdonalds for breakfast.

Actually give and take la. From Macpherson Windsor to AMK st 11 at midnight, male pax board says can reach St11 for $10? I say maybe cannot. See how later. So nearing amk ave 3, pax says alight at AMK Hub he will take feeder bus back. I told him never mind la, I send him there. Fare $13+, I collect $10 only. He was so grateful keep saying "Thank you very much uncle" X 3.

Sound familar, I got one pax also going to st11 AMK, up from Eunos link...knn, we might be the same person..also said not enuf money, only got $10, drop near a bus stop to take feeder, so I asked him, how far, he said..oh just around the corner, fare was $14, just take 10...dun tell me...we..kenna.. -

First and foremost, I agree with JoeRaj that a lesson have to be taught,
BUT....
The fact that they used their credentials to try to pay for the fare, I would have isolated them from those fare-dodgers.
That means probably they are genuine case, not trying to skip your fare.
They are young, and probably foreigners. Humiliated and scared.
We are already above 30 yrs old, already kena threatened from young 'til old.
Seasoned old man vs fresh young girls.
Try to think at their level.
I strongly believe that if given the trust that they will pay,... they WILL probably pay.
You want to know an example of the profile of a fare-dodger?
"Well dressed, not happy with the way you drive, do not give instruction, and F*rk you for being so inexperienced. Then do a quick get-away after paying short, or not paying at all."

always confirm the route bfore starting off the trip so as to avoid
any disputes.................
