it's always good to try out different type of driving , from driving day , driving night , split , OMO and midnight swing etc .....
Then u can experience those differences and income gap .
But cannot do it too much , there is a limit.
When it must come to a stop , stop !
Then u do what u like best....
i first drove a cab , not much choices , only have got night shift , desperate for money , anything will do ..... not too bad .
Side effect ? Lost touch with family quite a bit .
They sleep i work , they work i sleep .
not much of those jams like now .
can see soccer ..... not too bad , nice lifestyle .
Then i chose to OMO ...... cos experience liao , powerful in taking call , like many newbies here .
Worked from morning 7.30am ..... all the way to 8-9pm .
After a few months , realized income same leh , not like really double or things like that .
But effort double .
Fuel cost also higher .
Fuck lah .... go split .
During OMO time totally lost touch with family . Most time on the steering .
It's the most fuck type style of driving .
Split ..... can recoup energy quite easily .
Unlike those full 7.30am to 8-9pm , rubbish swing .
By 5pm , can be really tiring .
Split is another no life style of driving .....
The worst among the shift .
Then went day shift ..... got life , 5pm reached home .
But chor bo lan ..... slept late woke up early .
Attached to family most of the evening .... but weekends , must missed those 3am matches .
Rubbish ...gave up for the love of soccer .
Income ? Same like night ..... but cannot see soccer esp those UCL during midnight , missed alot during that time .
Finally decided .....
Night shift for me .
Strict on the ball from Mon to Friday .
Saturday and Sunday reserves for family , and catch up some weekend soccer matches on TV all the way from 8pm to 6am every Saturday sometimes .
Sunday relax only .
Income ? Same lah .
But can have family lifestyle , soccer lifestyle .
Income not affected .
After see soccer can sleep .
Just shiok lah such lifestyle .
Then .... if OMO or driving day shift that time , i cannot go stadium play badminton !!!
Which is very bad for me .
If chose to play badminto , it will affected all the way driving taxis .
So one way or the other ,have to give way , i give way ,no badminton .
After driving night .... sekali i have luxury of time to play badminton , see midweek midnight soccer , weekend with family ..... weekend midnight can see soccer all the way .
That is why i still driving night .
Cos i want lifestyle ... can do things i love , and not neglecting family on the way .
Still i made money , not that i do not make money .
It's something like all in one package .
Good for me , my family , my body and my hobby .
I am saying this ... cos i want you guys to know....
Drive taxis also must have life .
Not just know how to make money . Singapore cannot stop making money one .
Must have a balance .
A balance between family , hobbies and exercises .
I drove night , sometimes can do some private thing during midnight hahahahaha .
Day shift cannot leh , hahahaah
So summed it up ....
Money , Love , Sports , Hobbies and Lust , hahahahah all in one !!!!
Not all can be like me ....or drive like me .
Cos u dun have such hobbies i have .
not say cannot omo...
but for newbies... best is take progressive steps... when confident enough den go into omo...
if die die want to omo... den go for cheap rental taxi... and if u can find a mentor to guide u along... the learning curve will be less steep...
one example is jackpotlok...
newbie relief for awhile... den jump to omo...
after half a year plus... his collection most of the time exceeds his mentor... probably his mentor nua liao... no drive to drive? ha ha...
got one day... when poolman see his collection for 10 hours plus day shift... also eyes big big.... even his metor never achieve tat standard... ha ha...
starting drive till no day no nite... den after awhile see open... 6am to 6pm... fridays and saturdays drive a bit late... sunday throw rental... sometimes 4pm plus already keep car go home...
those days jackpotlok keep early... khoon wlll laugh at his mentor.... nb... your tu di keep car liao... u still penging steering... ha ha...
another one is YWHT...
go for CDG city cab... also got good mentor... before driving... already start plucking hs mentor's brains...
although his mentor driving red... but can guide him how to make the mdt powerful... and where to wait for ting ting ting... his mentor power hor?... ha ha...
initially chiong 16 hours per day... but later see open... 12 hour plus... keep car... some days throw rental... family more important...
so as chief pool says... omo muz balance lifestyle... prepare to earn less den half shift... den will be okay...
plus hammer and khoon says... omo muz "sei de" throw rental on certain days...
even me now omo... also still trying out different timing...
but safe to say... to hav consistant collection... den must be discipline in the driving hours... same time start... same time stop... dun need worry about collectionn.. regarless omo or split shift...
coz taxi driving... today obk... tomolo will earn back de...
one day huat... next day expect a slow day...
one thing about use of the car as "leg step"...
part of the reasons why khoon go into omo... is coz got wheels to travel around...
but those who hav followed my postings... will know tat me started off as relief...
it took me almost a year to progress to omo... sacrificed a lot... seldom go out... everyday is drive... hand over... sleep... wake up... drive... once a week go temple... tats all...
so if newbies thinking of having a car at disposal... can be done... but piority is to learn the trade asap... den think of using the taxi as a leg step...
actually hor... after driving taxi... off work liao... u wont want to drive yourself to do your own things... u will think of taking others taxis... bus... mrt... sometimes... see the steering wheel also phobia... ha ha...

i agree relief is the way to go in the long run!but OMO,like the saying thrown into the deep end of the pool!but then again if manage to survive,u will be resilient to all kinds of challenges!u won't bend over and fall when facced with obstacles!
