despite the fare increases, some passengers have difficulty hailing cabs in some areas.
reasons for the uneven distribution are aplenty, even though there are at least 20,000 fleets in Singapore.
Just curious, what are the percentage of cab drivers in singapore worked in the mornings, afternoons, night time and midnight till wee hours of morning.
to be exact, there are 23,267 taxi registered
3256 are down in workshop or not rented out
20,011 on the road plying............... haha......... will this figure help?
statistics are use by bigger player to claim, to support, to meet their agenda. we ikan billis, sole proprietorship, is not our level to use it yet.
do you do a statistics, the difference of time taken, cost involve, percentage of wastage.....etc, when buying bread and butter.
commuter having difficulty hailing ? for that few hour, at that few location................
who care about our plying........ the stress level at all Taxi Stand........ the loneliness on the street
Last time when i not TD i thought taxi driver "hiding" during times hard to get cabs, but now i drive taxi i know it's not true. Most of the time difficult to get cabs is because most of the cabs are hired, those not hired are mostly outside the high demand area still after dropping passengers, for them to rush back cab empty is really not cost effective, waste fuel..
Some cabby really depend on calls, cos maybe some don't know where got passengers. Some have their own personal bookings..
Some places queue very long but no taxi, but pax never realise it's a taxi stop, taxi can't queue to pick up pax. Then some places only allow 2-3 cabs, LTA enforcement will come and chase TD away..
Then there are places TD don't want to go, cos sometimes got undercover LTA enforcement, purposely wanna find fault with cabby
In CBD sometimes i put "Busy" cos i need to go for toilet break, pass those taxi stand those queuing give me sad, begging face "pls take me pls take me" kindda look. But no choice i need to pee!
Then sometimes when TD wanna go into CBD, those cheapskate pax that walk all the way out of CBD to save $3 surcharge, grab whatever available taxis that are coming into CBD. We ignore those outside they complain, we take them those inside complain say not enough cab...

out of 20,011 on the road, how many are driving in morning, afternoon and night/midnight shift? and out of these, some dun drive on Sundays as it is a family day for them?
1/2 morning, 1/2 nite lah, what you expect? but then nite usually keep earlier, cos graveyard shift mah, less pax after 1 or 2 am, then 4 to 5am the first shift start again, people working shift or need to go work earlier, like food centres, etc etc, then some wanted to catch early flights.
Singapore is both a city and a state, unlike others like JB, malacca, KL or even in Hongkong, sai kong is sai kong taxis, new HK is new HK taxis, etc etc, so taxis are better allocated to only plough within the town or city, meaning JB cabs only ply around JB, but occasionally will go into malacca or KL, after that, he will drive back, and of course he will charge pax a small token on return empty trip,
In Singapore, you cannot said CCK taxis only ply cck , so once a while go town, later must come back cck, you cannot go TPY or JW or Pasir Ris..
If notice TD are moderate earner, so most of us live in heartlander town, HDB, of course some live in Mi casa or even bradell height and serangoon garden, therefore, depend on the time, most TD will start from their base and move on,
These people who thought taxi hard to get is those commuters waiting at place at outside cbd after 8pm .
Inside CBD got $3 extra surcharge ....
Who say uneven ?
Uneven was created because of surcharge inside the cbd .
If u put $3 surcharge islandwide from 8pm to 12mn..... u see if taxis enough ?
Talk cock only thosewho complained .
They see things from one dimension .
Time to see things from wider scopes .
If talking about morning hours ..... every taxi go town liao , town saturated with taxis .....Yishun Sembawang Woodlands CCK Bt Pj Bt Batok , where got enough taxis ? They got see that dimension before ?
Diese land CNG so expensive , who want to go up such places ??? With no perks ?
Even CDG cabbies with $2.30 calls , alot of them , also say no time to do such thing .
They go Katong maybe nearer ,also got calls .
Why must go up North so far ?
If i drive day ... i would go North.....
And put Changing shift YISHUN all the way .
Strictly no town .
Town have to wait .
I am not going town .
The best is take MRT !!!!
MRT anytime also got ....

Seriously speaking, I really don't give a farking care how other cabby earn their living.......or pax had a hard time getting a cab.......
Uneven distribution?......not in my dictionary leh........
Everyday, I ply the road according to my own schedule.........
How much I earn, don't need to share right?......
Unless they implement Taxi Act, like Enlistment Act, Property Act........Than maybe LL Goberment call me go pick at Paragon, go loh......Bo go jail leh.......
Why not "Uneven distribution of pax in Singapore"?

Ya loh.....haha that's a good one....KNN pax can complain no taxi we cannot complain no pax...SMLJ
how about those paxs call booking but don't honour see any taxis pass by also take!then we TD reach there, pax missing!is this not uneven distribution?then can TD not honour their call booking?see any paxs also take?we can't cos the MDT is stuck with pax on call and we r tracked by the coy!
perhaps some1 should comes up a apps tat pax is at xx location

har nor

Auto booking apps lor, then paid the on call surcharges
Actually Public Transport Council planning on merging the booking system, so instead of calling CDG or SMRT or TC, etc... Pax can call one number to get cab, something like LV or other Radio Taxi service. Don't really care what color u driving.
Problem is the MDT used by one company diff from another, and some company no MDT.
Then even if they solve the tech part, the problem of booking fee, how to incur the call levy. Currently the cab company earn a small amount from every call booking, most of the time it's deducted thru giro. Thats another problem, who will keep track of the accounts..
Best is take bus, usually not so crowded, and during bus lane timing, cars all jammed up, bus just whiz thru.. Hahaha.. Thats what i always do, even when i got my own vehicle, peak period i take bus
Cab charge, E-voucher....how to combine? Lol
肥水让外人"舔"........
