Silent mode taxi drivers

  I drive the day shift...so whenever i go out after work i take cabs..

  I will say abt 50% drivers are silent drivers..

  typical example..

  Open door, i say hello/ gd evening... bo reply..

  sit down say go Geylang lor 17.. bo sound bo nod..

  say pls take kpe exit sims..no sound also..

  reach liao... say stop here thank you. pls keep change. no reply no smile.. no expression.

  sometimes i feel like an idiot...like driven my some zombie. hello all fellow drivers... pls relax abit.

  sorry not bias but mostly are cdg drivers 30-50 yo type.

  dun feel like talking is ok... at least show some kind of acknowledgement like nodding your head or say "ok" or lazy at least say "k"

  i agreed with poolman. I just kept quiet during the journey. Nothing much to talk about.

  Normally, I will reply with "ok"...........than will reconfirm again "turn here, sir?"....

  Than, I cannot don't talk......because got pax on board, my radio set will off, use to it.........

  Too silent, I will go crazy, unless is limo pax........the rest, I will try to start a conversation, especially chio bu.........

  So for me, most time is pax choose to maintain Silent Mode..........

  I will know when to stop talking........

  When pax start to play with his/her handphone, when pax start to look outside the window, when pax start to close his/her eyes, when pax start to talk to you in a tone like he/she is irritated, when pax start to give you direction, when pax remain silent while I keep talking............

  If nobody on board, will find kakis to talk on talkie, for me last time, no talk really will die........

  they feel proud cos everybody wants to take their sonata!they r highly in demand!not like some Nissan Cedric,go for booking,kena cancel,street pick,passenger pretend never see or wave high to get attention of sonata behind,q at taxi stand,passenger take behind sonata!so u see these sonata drivers need to be proud!

  i hate to go geylang and joo chiat. if its me , i will also be silent. going to a farked place with bad traffic , dangerous pedestrians , farking ah tiongs all around . whats there to talk in the 1st place?

  I only go silent mode when send to places where I know sure no chances of connection or pax with funny odour.

  Ya I also dun like pax who is so silent until I needs to shout at them for instructions. But later realize they are on their ear phones. Not adays ear phones so small until I also cannot see. Lol

  bro u are also a taxi driver. if your expectations are high take the crysler. They will talk to you all night long. face it. its like that one. why u wanna change things which is part of the culture. they just want the money after they provide the service. why make it so complicated.

  Which ever type of taxi you guys are driving don't really matter......

  I drive crown or sonata, also like to talk to pax........If possible....

  Sometime, newspaper or Internet or tv or FORUM also won't be able to get first hand news........hahaha

  Once you break the eyes, most time the journey not enough time to finish the talk cock session.......

  Sometimes I talk to Pax is because I get sleepy on a long expressway, when talking to pax, learn to lower yourself abit as you are servicing them, a broad knowledge of subject is required, if businessmen, talk more on economy, if ah beng, talk more on girls, society and jobs.....XMM, my speciality

  No, not really, u must know the objectives of yourself and paxs,

  For Us, we want to finish the trip nicely and get our fares

  For Paxs, they want a smooth trip, no or less longer journey, and happily reach their desired destination

  So both have some objectives in common, and that is to smoothly and nicely finish the trip and that will end the relationship.

  Make use of this similar objectives to gain your communication with pax.

  Brothers i repeat again... my point here is that drivers dun acknowledge when u greet them, give directions.         not about driver not chit chatting.
