Airport to tanglin park.

Just now, got this angmo from airport, board my cab : go by ecp. So while reaching rochor exit , i was about to fliter to exit, h,e shout: no! go by lower delta, Henderson, then to alexandra road, then to tanglin, so i exit at lower delta, wanted to turn left to bukit merah,then right to henderson. I THought. Then he fuck again! No , i wat u to go by the bridge to henderson, i was like wtf! So told him this way abit far. He reply: i am paying for the trip, and this is the shortest way! I have been living here for 8 years, ok loh so say sorry to him, fare was $$ 19;70, PLUS AP and peak =27:90. Mrbs. Wats your shortest way?

In the first place, open your mouth and ask is better, hello sir, go by PIE, steven, evan into holland and tanglin better or you want to go by ECP, lower delta...he who knows will tell you the routes, then reaching lower delta, ask again, you want to go straight left alexander into tanglin?
Must have confident in your driving, as such, we are daily exposed to public scrutiny, learn to have some basic communicating skill is good.
However, many of us came from stagnation jobs which do not demand much conversation, therefore as we go into servicing industrial like TD, we tend to feel awkward or perhap cultured in a way of a perception that remaining silence is golden, which is do not gel well in TD.

Last time, from AP, I damn TL kanna this side of town, ie Tangling Area....
If morning or evening peak, take up too much time on traffic.....
Fare different not much.......

Drive taxis, Q at AP, street pick, TS Q/pick up, on call, lai lai qi qi, mah si ani kuan, keng lai keng ker, ar si ai hwan taxis.
It is all about serving others but not ourselves, sometime, we just wonder what the fark are we doing by worry or getting left and right from paxs, summons from LTA, fines from TP, warning from company, and more worst, anytime can up lorry while on the road occupied by self centric and kiasu motorists.
Having said that, since we are in it, might as well enjoy it while it last.

quite a few times go by this route from ap. so easier to just ask first.
may seem longer but depending on peak hour, wat the pax saves is time.
take cab is to save time not save money

Lucky he never KANNA me....If want shortest way I treat him PIE/New Upp Changi East/New Upp Changi/Changi Road/Geylang Road/Kallang Road/Victoria Street/Coleman then up Fort Canning/Oxley Rise/Eber/Exeter/Devoshire/Grange/Chatsworth/Tanglin.....OLD SCHOOL CONFIRM SHORTEST!!!!

this CB ask u to go by ECP? or u ownself took that route? if your own , a bit run water leh. normally to go tanglin park is PIE - CTE - cairhill circle - grange road - chatsworth.
if pax ask me go by ECP then i will ask him for clear cut directions instead of trying to read his mind where is his preferred route.
but lemme tell u la bro , u ask us after everything has happened , for what? thats why i say get a walkie , get live information , live advice . ON THE SPOT commentary.

Why ECP? Others which got local habbits, do not like so many traffic lights route. So those Residance nearer City prefer ECP. PIE accident prone areas.
Tanglin Park or Sterling Rd, most pax offers ECP, Lower Delta, Alexandra (Residence)
Traders Hotel, i usually PIE, Whitley/Evans/Cluny/Napier.(Visitors/Tourist)
Oxley Rise. ECP,Rochor,Victoria,Coleman, Fort Canning. (Residence)
Unless Accidents, detour to other highways. Info thru www.MyTransport.sg or its Apps.

Pax staying around Jervois area go AP, 100% take L. delta, ecp Tanglin pk being a stone throw away fr jervois, come back by ecp, L.delta also no wrong. wat these ang mo pax hate most is getting stuck in any kind of traffic jam, Rule of thumb is " preferred route '" If pax know the way, it is called PAX preferred route. If pax don't know the way, it is also called pax preferred route but suggested cabby, approved by paying customer.

Tanglin is quite a long road, it also very much depend on the one near alexander road or the the one near grange side. Perhap the one near grange side such as ridley park can take the grange or napier road in, the those near tanglin view side might take the other road.
As mentioned by many, best is pax preferred route, but of course as TD, you can suggest better road if you know there will be jam or slow moving traffic along preferred route at that particular hours.

once at Tanglin Park , around 9pm Sunday , that Japanese want to go AP , want me go by Havelock , Outram Road , Cantonment Road , ECP .
Also very fast hit ECP without a need to go via AYE .
So if at AP , down ECP , also can exit Keppel Road > Cantonment Road > Outram Road , Havelock Road , Alexandra Road into Tanglin Road .
I think think ..... also quite fast leh , not much traffic lights !!!!

When pax give us a route, just follow lah, easy easy, relax relax follow lor, end of trip, fark care long or short, just take $$ and buzz off.
I know that most TD will agree that customer is not alway right, but if pax give us a route and guide to their destination, we need to follow these 2 rules
Rule 1, Customer is alway right
Rule 2, If customer is wrong, read Rule 1 again.

Actually i usually ask, but that cb ang mo show me a fuck face when i greet him at the airport, hes the want who say go by ecp, yeah, my fault for not asking, but his fuck face i see liao, dun feel like asking.

From airPort to tankong pagar road... Which route u normally take? That morning ard 5am+ also Fetch 1 ang moh but his prefer route i never ask.. Went by ecp... Prince edward... Maxwell... Then TJP...

Actually i post this thread here, not really complain maybe 40% to complain 60% to share this ap to tanglin route, anyway, i am going to take class 4 after my reservist after oct, year 2013, will drive bus, yes i have PA. But before i drive bus next year, really hope to meet u guys at next gathering. bbq or chalet.

our job is to follow and listen to customer army style dun agrue it's ok to give your opinion last saturday for example I fetch a pax from upp thomson going to geylang he wants to go via AMK ave 1 then use cte i told him cte massive jam he insit I just follow loh .... i am very free wat , drive taxi and not rushing for time later i suan him.... dun believe me lah now u know

It the same when you are the customer, example if you go eat meepok, you will insist on dry, less chilli, less oil, no fry onion and so on, the seller will do as you said, he careless if it taste good or not, as long as it satisfy you and you paid for it, he collect the money, that is the most important, any addition, you have to pay more for it.
Alway use the reverse psychology or thinking to get thing into better perspective.
