New Driver using GPS

Picked up a couple at 7 pm, at MBS, going to Geylang Lorong 22.
GPS directed me to ECP. While going to ECP, passenger not happy with route and was unhappy. After explaining I was unfamaliar with the route, passenger provided directions, drunk as he was.
Total fare was $19. Pax paid $10. I accepted.
His female china girl companion kept asking for discount after giving the $10. I pointed at the meter showing total fare being $19 and I only got $10. How much more discount she wants???

Passengers always think that a taxi driver who takes a longer route is out to cheat them.
Fact is that the sooner the passenger drops off and Taxi Driver picks up a new passenger, he gets $3.20. If he gets a booking, it is $6++
As long as the passenger is in the taxi, he cannot get a new passenger or receive bookings.

i tell u watch out for China passengers,very calculative and suspicious!fyi,always ask passengers for preferred routes!in case they complain just say it's ur route u choose!if they say any route,then u to be on safe side give them a route and ask them whether ok or not!later on they can't complain!fyi u should use nicol h/w and guiliemard rd

I always tell passengers I am new and aks for directions. I always enter the destination in the GPS as a back up.
Passengers always think that the moment the Taxi Driverkes a wrong turn, he wants to cheat the passenger.

Nicoll Highway leh....common sense leh....I really buay tahan these people simple basic route also dunno and give us TD a -ve image we are blur sotong or out to cheat $$$.

For god sake BAN these people. Should make the TVL test more difficult in the route section. Got once I was at Fort Canning Park taxi stop taking a smoke break got one AMK ask me where is the Flute Restaurant....KNN the TD dunno the place anyhow dump the poor fellow there.

If i driving SFJ-4880M Honda Civic .... any directions GPS sent me to ..... no people will fuck one .
But driving a taxi leh ......
So am i right to say ...... go by the old school method is the best ?
Dump the GPS away .....
Use my non-GPS old school method , u'll learnt faster .
Non seemed to know what i saying all the while .
Doom to get fuck one ....
By the way ..... Nicholl Highway is a very important route than ECP .

Not only Chinese paxes , given to any Ang Mor Kao that stay at Geylang Area like Sims Ville ..... from MBS , u go by ECP , same kena fucked ..... most likely kena fucked .

If you have no confident and be steady,Even you said you old driver, they also want to make a fool out of you.

Unless the TD go b4 Flute Restaurant, he may not know where it is, most likely pax just say at Fort Canning, i think his bak chiu tiak 'stamp'

It could be the TD is like me sex 2 lau hokkien type, so the first sounding impression was fullerton or fort canning, he drove to fort canning, then pax said wrong, it flute restaurant, so he just tell pax to take another cab, he will not collect the fare, we have to be fair abit to our brothers and not just jump into conclusion of cowboys or mickey mouse.

As for nicoll highway, many also forget that there is a KPE.
Many cabbies like to think of expressways, it can the fastest, but it can also be the worst. Give yourself some option, make an open discussion with pax if not sure or even if you are damn sure, 7 out of 10 are more than willing to give you a direction. Once you open your mouth, you break the ice, and from then, you can chat and drive with more ease, you quiet, pax quiet, both quiet and let the mind assume, most likely it will end up ass you and me

The word FLUTE so big. Dun tell me the TD never seen before? For me everywhere I go I will look out for any landmarks like condo names, the numbering of the house/condos on major road like River Valley, Bukit Timah, Dunearn Road etc...take note which side is odd number which side even. Where the numbering start? Like that easier when taking calls. If this kind of simple things also lazy to do then can we call ourselves professional driver?

mbs to geylang at cbd peak is minimum $12 by sampan, so you definitely kena skin by the MadeInChina.
Very true on MIC being distrustingly. Love to argue on routes halfway, so must stand firm. Especially if you do a turn early or late they want to kill you. Stand firm!
Every now and then also kena TD dump pax at coconut tree or Fort Canning. Flute sign is there but if you don't know where to look sure miss. But good biz for LV.

Wahahaha when i first time also like that....i use GPS...it shows go ECP then exit tanjong katong...China guy say very expensive then i say....i already ask you where is your prefered way cause im new else i use gps and yu say ok...lol
Slowly after that i start to learn about Nicoll..java road beach road...sultan road..arab street..
But still i always ask them from MBS wanna go by ECP or your prefered way...wakakakakaka

Actaully till now also use GPS...coming to 1mnth liao...wat to do...im a weekend driver only lol...lotsa roads names and routes to remember..slowly but steadily sure will achieve if i focus on it

The TD population needs to be cut by 30% , get rid of all those who dont know routes , road hog ( esp those fucking cb crowns ), reckless cbs who cut in and pick pax , airport Q cutters and blah blah blah.
Once this group is gotten rid of , Sg roads will be a better place to drive and good for those TDs serious in their work to earn $.

When i say dont know routes , i meant simple and obvious ones. Long ago , 1 lady pax board my cab and kpkb that earlier in the day , she took a cab and the driver dont know where is esplanade!

i duno where is flute restaurant leh.. i am those drivers u hate.. everything also duno one..
