Transcab SHD9448S tried to pull a fast one on me

Date : 25 Aug 2012 Time : 10.33 am Location : Sentosa Island (Equarius Hotel) My Ban Gai (gf in vietnamese) came to singapore to visit me so I brought her to stay in hotel Equarius Hotel. Today checked out at 10.30 am and asked the bell boy to call for a cab. I am a weekend taxi driver for one year already and i know at that time there is a high chance that a few cabs are queuing in Hard Rock Hotel. The bell boy told me cab coming. I said ok. Then he said call booking. I got a bit suspicious but i gave him the benefit of doubt when he told me no cab at HRH. I lighted my ciggy outside the entrance while my ban gai waited inside the hotel. Around 2 minutes later a Red Trans Cab Epica SHD9448S arrived with a ON CALL sign. I waited for my ban gai before we boarded the taxi. Once inside, I saw two figures on the meter staring at me before I even utter a single word. Fare : $3.40 Surcharge : $6.30 The taxi refuses to move on despite me telling him my destination. Taxi driver summoned the bell boy to come over the taxi. I asked him "what happened" Taxi driver said " I want the bell boy to explain to me the surcharge" The bell boy came over and said " 3 and 3.30 and knn dunno wat" I said to the taxi driver " Can you move on please" I instructed the driver to go two places. First to Bukit Merah to collect my taxi garang (key, TVDL, loose money etc) and then to Everton Park to collect my taxi I kept quiet mostly during the trip and merely ask the taxi driver about trans cab call booking surcharge. He explained to me "morning is 3.30 and later afternoon changed agin to another amount" I just nodded and keep quiet. I reached Everton Park at around 11.00 am and the fare says $17.84 Breakdown : km run : 8.5 Fare : $11.54 Cab booking : $3.30 Location : $3.00 Total fare : $17.84 I reached for my pocket and took out two $10 notes. i made a mistake because i said : receipt please before handling the $ over to the taxi driver. Suprisingly ... He paid me $4.15 ... I look puzzled. He proceeded to print out the receipt and then use his pen to alter the amount shown. He altered the cab booking charge : From 3.30 to 2.30 He also altered the total fare : from 17.84 to 16.84 After giving me the receipt, he reminded me again ..."I return you 4.15 okay" I kept quiet ... If the taxi friver of SHD9448S is reading this forum... Let me tell you... knn if you want to pull a fast one on a local, please becareful lah see ang mo...maybe can pull a fast one I spoke to you in hokkien so you very well know i am a local. i dunno whether you are in cahoot with the bell boy but i also give you the benefit of doubt. $1 can make you very full ahhhh ? In retrospect, I still own you a dollar. Come and collect from me, I will pay you back. knn going for my shift now 1.44 pm ....sad ....shd be able to cover rental and make a few bucks.

bro just give fellow taxi driver benefit of the doubt no matter how... just tell him straight. i encountered once book for transcab 3pm..the driver oso press $3.30 booking.. end of trip tell him nicely of the mistake.. but still paid him as per 3.30 as tip to him. any unhappiness should hv tell him off infront of him, post here oso no use.. its ok if u tulan me but just my comments.

fare $11.54 seems a bit steep for a 8.5 km run, must hv been some waiting.
anyway, these buggers deserved to be shamed in public, cheating like this.
I thought the charges can just press again to change or cancel, why use pen. mdt got any info?
ppl already look down on TDs and this fella really give us a bad name, really sia suay!

Should have decal stated somewhere in the cab.......I don't stick any kind of decal last time, so cannot confirm, have or not......

transcab their mdt not link to taximeter one .....
only cdg and smrt is linked ..... cannot chute stunts one for smrt and cdg .

This confirm chute pattern. I noticed the RWS have own "kaki". Go there and observed. U will know.
If keyed wrongly no need doing adjustment. Just collect the fare. Some more 10.30am, he dunno meh? I rather do a honest biz. Nothing will come and bother me.

- BTW, 25/08/2012 is a Saturday no peak hour $3.30 on current booking at any other time before 6.00pm to 12pm. Dun anyhow hiong.

post here is not for you to read I post here for him to read 30 plus or maybe early 40s... so maybe read the forum here or is another contributor here to tell him dun anyhow chut pattern to local to ang mo or tourist....i dun really care -

This is what i think too ... Few weeks ago i ever queue in hard rock and the bell boy asked me to put on call... i told him cdg cannot anyhow self-key in ON CALL own kaki should be Trans Cab drivers LTA .... do something leh ...... -
