Picked up an auntie (late 40s) and her girl (late teens) along sims ave after lor 27 yesterday ard 4.10 pm and balls nearly exploded!!
Auntie: uncle punggol field (wah, auntie not bad. quite precise instead of punggol or punggol 21)
Last trip of the day, tired liao and since never say anything, u turn back to geylang rd sure kena jam, so go straight by eunos link. Both chatting happily behind until junction at airport rd.
Auntie: uncle, you going by defu lane right?
Me: why defu lane? most ppl like to go by kpe
Auntie: I dunno how to say which way but my hubby will know. He also TD. But we never go this way leh, always take the tunnel.
Girl rudely: we dun wanna to go buangkok. we wanna go punggol, punggol! (wah, getting offended liao. small girl dun know anything, no big no small somemore!)
Me: if you earlier say, I would hv u-turned. see, fare is only $7 quite close. How much you usually pay?
Auntie: the most $8+
Me: huh? you must be kidding. anyway you can pay me $8
Auntie: nevermind you go yr way
Inside tunnel me: after tunnel go buangkok or tpe?
Auntie: not this tunnel leh. we never take this tunnel. (xx@@??!!)
Me: there's only one tunnel to punggol. which block?
Auntie: 199
Me: you better say which way, tpe or..?
Auntie: nevermind you go yr way but I never come this way before! (????!!!, gave up liao)
So whacked tpe and just before turning right into punggol,
Auntie pointing to the left: there last time we came by sengkang...but nevermind. (me really wordless liao)
Girl to mother: aiyah... not here lah, punggol plaza that side lah!
Reached, fare $12.22
Me: pay me $8 lah, I also won't get rich with a few dollars more.
They quickly threw down $12.50 on arm rest and alighted.
Phew......and ......Phui!

She is trying to get a free ride.If u say foc for her,u will fall into her trap But anyway she NO SMART. She takes u as a green horn. she should threaten to complain against u AND SERIOUSLY WARNED she knows WHO IS WHO IN LTA & the taxi company to hv u dismiss.

She's the type who's road blind, but as a customer, dun wanna to admit she's blur. Try to act sophisticated.
So the more she tries to cover up, the more mistakes she makes!

teach commuter how to "handle" Taxi Driver.

Route to pax destination, is still a no solution arguement.
Our talent can come out "which route you prefer", but still invited counter attack by those unreasonable commuter.
When a person want to be unreasonable, it's not our level, a taxi driver, a service provider could handle.
Know your dos and don'ts, complete your job and get paid accordingly. The rest, leave it to the customer service to handle.
I never challenge for complaint, i never fear about complaint
whenever pax threaten to complaint, my answer is always......... "ok, it's better for both of us."

Yalor, but sometime to be kind hearted, asked them which way they preferred, they said "Uncle, you dunno how to go is it?" some worst, can suan siao you "then drive what taxis, must know mah"
And that is also why I said, as a TD, try not get your emotion into it, your purpose is to earn the fare and buzz off. But if got a chio bak bak girl, I might get emotionally involved...

I have stopped asking pax "you would like go by which way" as most of the time the answer is
fastest way, no jam, you go, anyway, only abt 20% give you specific routes, if local pax wanna go certain routes, they will tell you once on board
most of the time kenna ask by pax "you going by which way" hahaha

I think the auntie is trying to indicate by going via paya lebar, pass the tunnel (not into), then hougang ave 3, defu, ave 7, U serangoon, the all the way, finally left turn to punggol field.. Thats the old route where ppl like to take before KPE is up.
