Bro , this is not SMRT website , pls go to http://www.smrt.com.sg/Feedback.aspx
This evening, pick up an ang mo pax from the club.
The moment he boarded my cab, start to complain to me.
Told me last night he came back from oversea, board a red cab at AP.
After helping him load his stuff, the driver ask him if he got cash which he replied he have.
His next question is how much cash he have.
This angmo said that he is dam pissed off and decided to unload his stuff and take another cab.
I reasoned out that that driver might not have cashless facilities and would like to make sure first but he said that even if that is the case, he should not have ask him how much cash he have with him.
He is very suspicious of this guy and think that maybe he is part of a syndicate who wants to rob him later.
He said this guy drives a red car and is very immaculately dress in a white shirt with a red tie driving a cab with the number 599x. I hardly meet a red cab driver who is even decently dressed, not to mention the word immaculately.
To me, this guy is just plain tactless, what u guys think?
lol, plain tactless! Why not just let the pax know terms of payment: cash only! Imagin u visit some other place kena this, sure will have same mentality...
TS, go and complain LTA, maybe histaxi license will be KanTong then his whole family will have to suffer.
red slippers i believe , red tie of course i never will believe , hahahah
TS's story telling and essay writing not as impressive as mine , hahahahahaha .
i tell stories many juniors like to listen ......
Do not be deluded that we are in a cashless society, we are not. As the old saying goes, CASH IS KING.
I dunno if I should laugh at you or sympathize you, why is paying cash so difficult? Your deduction of driver not getting pax to AP hence upset with you is baseless n far fetched. Or are you starting a smear campaign?

from yr comments, it seems that u are the type always wallet "ba ba" right?
u cannot empathise sometimes ppl happens to have no cash with them at that moment? or not enough cash? or like to keep their cash for something else?
I really pity those people who are still having the idea "Cash is KIng"
they are losing so much business opportunity. Many of the calls now goes only to CDG cos they are the one who 100% can pay in any mode.
To me, this principle reminds me of the olden days when they said packing food in plastic bags can cause cancer. Surprisingly, after 30 over years, some ppl are still having that thought.

I normally avoid your taxi after the SMRT train insentience. But I got tricked this time.
Taxi had a blue advertizement on it making it look like comfort taxi.
After waiting for half an hour for taxi at star hotel (Because my black berry had no battery so could not call).
After driving for a while taxi driver un happy that either he did not get a a passenger to the airport. Or did not like my face, decided to dump me. Called out after riding for few minutes if I can pay by cash (I had all the cards).
I said not sure, asked me to get out of the taxi. OI refused. He made a police complaint on me and through me out. With not enough money, and dead phone. I am so sad that i get treated like this.
In Singapore every thing is reliable and works except SMRT.
Not all SMRT cabs have all kinds of cashless payment from what I know of.
Some uses NETS, others VISA, but its either or.
That is company's restriction.
I know of a LV member driving red who have it but dun use, prefer to collect cash.
Got a company who ask for cab using Cabcharge and the driver who took up the call ending up asking for cash from the new Pinoy boy. Sure kanna complain from the manager the next day. CDG driver rejecting cabcharge.

I dare not say wallet par par la, must at least have a couple of tens right?
Sad to say I really can't bring myself to empathize with those not carrying cash. Not enough cash can tell me upfront, if I'm in the mood, free ride also can.
You use the term pity, such a strong word tsk tsk tsk...... Wat do you intend to do to help out? if you are not then pity wat?? Let me quote you another saying (LOL) "To each his own" You do yr business and they do theirs.
No hard feelings I hope ;)
Cheerios mate
later i try use visa go coffee shop buy makan
or go geylang call chicken use visa to pay
So will know cash is king or queen liao!
better is bring both...card n cash!
Cash or credit card im fine. But too bad the current cab im driving right now doesnt have cashless facilities ( Already apply with office for the past 2 mths still no news...dont know what the fuck they r doing?)...so end up i got to fit into different mode of driving as before.
Anyway i understand why some tds still prefer cash...some in need of money....some have cashflows problem...thousands and one reasons...hard to state all here
some nid visit lor 12 end of shift...

Sounds like this ang mo got harassed in other Asian countries and was cautious, in Singapore because of the Chris Reed article.
Put yourself in his shoes first. You travel to a foreign country. You land safely and manage to get a cab. Taxi driver asks whether you got cash. Off course you got cash in your currency but you need to exchange it to the country currency that the taxi driver accepts.

Avoiding SMRT was your first mistake. Never judge a book by the cover. Chriss Reed Taxis! are the best! They provide London Taxi Service at Singapore rates.
Saw one smrt young lady driver look early 30s from gambas ave turning to wdlnd ave 9.. Plate no shc4009... Haha... I was riding home from work
