This idea is to help newbies ..... largely for them .

If cabby@sgforums need a network , it will be something else except *169 used by Royal / U2 / Islandwide etc .....
Same price ..... @$28 plan .
Reason from Grid for declining ?
*169 network too congested .

Chief, why dun use palringo, most of us got a smartphone, and set a password for the cabby@sgforum.

the idea of it is to have it simple and quick touch, press and talk especially while driving.
to me it is a good ideas, you get traffic info , pick and go info , requesting direction info from of us/others not always it must be newbie
day shift for example can call for small break session short one 15-30min or maybe a member going to have a break or eating breakfast or lunch and just say over the walkie and invite member who are nearby, night shift kopi session etc

a idea which is new but i believe not necessary must have job to announce
it could be asking for help in case any member got suspicious pax( way to signal thru the walkie) , breakdown etc
i believe in long term, such function could grows to a bigger very useful information walkie group with members contributing new idea or comment, suggestion

of course there must be some basic set of rules and regulation so such walkie group will not be misuse , also appointed member to do some control should need arise
but basically, the idea is just to have a simple info sharing walie group
a good channel for those newbie to join as lots of infomation is always require when starting to drive, instead of picking up your H/P and start dialing, just a touch and instant connect liao

taxiuncle group is using palringo. Reported many problems with iphone after upgrading the palringo. But still a good app to use considering its free.

Android phones dun have much problem except can hear the background when messaging

members , to me , palringo is a failed project .
Palringo is out of contention for this project .

seems like gotta abandon the plan since grid doesnt have fleet 169 ( where existing 169 fleet members can just add group).
Cant imagine komade holding 4 walkies haha.

don't give up bro, it will still be a good idea to form a sg taxi forum group , just give a bit time, maybe there is still other channel to do it
