I too have great admiration for LKY for what he done for Sinagpore in its startup phases..a true man who deserved what words cant be said nor describe...Long life LKY..

But one thing for sure, there next 30 years progress will never be able to repeat the last 30. Guaranteed, chopped and stamped.
Caused the current batch of leaders, everything they do will just be to please the voters, or else by the next election, another GRC will be lost.
Whatever ppl want they give. "Gam bo?" If not, ppl will use their rights to pull them down.
with this kind of platform, how to repeat? To maintain already got problem.

History had already told you, anyone too long in his position will ultimately turn evils, most of these leaders start with a good image, and as time goes by, all hell break loose, the like Adolf, Mao, Qin Emperor and many others had started with a caring and fight for citizens, but as time goes by, when they obtained power and refuse to let go, they turn to care for themselves more.
This is human nature, and that is why the US, the Brit, and some developed countries keep changing their leaders, so as to ensure no self interest, no dictation and no white corruption including nepotism and favouritism.
