make a quest which cop...any1..
cheap rental is like that lah, if no problem why give low rental rate.
just go and booking another cab from other taxi coy, later than collect deposit, if not just ensure lo
Aiyah.. obvious lah.
This one I think Fish Market tactic,.. oops.
Pls tell us the Co...so that we can learn...
Sounds like TransCab .
CDG and SMRT will never do that , Premier lagi won't , cos Mega Auto those mechanics will surely get fucked by Premier . Premier will give a replacement even if repair take 2 days .
Prime and Smart i never heard things like that before .
i be very surprised if it is cdg or smrt , straight outsider odds ,
And we know who is the firm favourite ....
the story now still havent finish still got continue
finaly at last 2 days ago workshop say do ok already no problem so collect yesterday.but after collecting problem slolwy come back. slow accelerate from stop, jerking, sudden slowdown when turning or moving up speed.
then just now only, car suddenly completely stop at junction after moving from traffic light. at first turn key can hear engine starting sound and the dashboard show all the red and amber and battery light, but 10min the whole car totally die, total no dashboard light, even the hazard light auto off press also cannot on again.
but when call in ask for help, the main technican first thing is accuse my friend if once driver see red and amber and battery lights on dashboard should immediately stop and call for help, why continue driving until now completely cannot even start, sound like the driver problem leh.. then my friend say no have see any red or yellow or battery lights come up at all, car just suddenly die in middle of road what! the tech argue back how can? never hear! no such thing impossible! and start sound like saying if driver so stubborn dont admit, will no choice file feedback to managment that if engine and gear both may be spoil, say something like will cost more than 5k, and like maybe driver may be irresponsible. both side argue no finish no end..
now my friend worry..so how he going to prove theres no light appear?
To give better advice, can TS provide us with the following information
1. Make and model of vehicle
2. Age of vehicle
3. Mileage clocked
No need to say from which taxi company, 我们是对事,是对人

Your friend already sent back the vehicle a number of times for repair. It even broke down so bad that it had to be towed. What did the main technician say on the first tow?
Now when it broke down again, looks like main technician was online waiting for vehicle to breakdown to give excuses.
Vehicle was already sent in earlier for servicing and it broke down within a few days. Yes, if there are warning lights, driver must pay heed. But if warning lights appear within a few days of servicing, what sort of servicing is the main technician doing???

Reliefdriver4u, Taxi drivers are already paying 2 to 3 times the rental rate for vehicles, as compared to what other rental companies are charging for similar vehicles.
When you rent a normal vehicle and it breaks down, you get a replacement and not an argument from some technician.
Taxis pay more for rental because they are more fully utilised. If it breaks down, taxi drivers deserve a replacement vehicle and not accusations from some senior technician who can also threaten the taxi driver about filing feedback to management.
TS. State the name of the Taxi Company and Senior Technician here.
This kind of case is very unfair for TD. Vehicle already sent in for servicing but breaks down again within a few hours or days.
The Gov should be looking into making taxis more roadworthy first! before insisting on taxis being driven 24 hours a day.
Already lots of Sonotas' caught fire. Who is the senior technician? How many times were these sonotas' in workshop? How old are they? What is the mileage on these Sonatas' on fire?
i think best to bring tis prob up to higher authority in the company
else no 1 can help u liao..............
write to lta and cc to the taxi coy
ask lta what standard they give taxi coy until a taxi keep breaking down after short span of time frame, very dangerous to be on the road

We also need the name of the Main Technician because he is the one writing the report. By the looks of it, Main Technicians, like to write reports on Taxi Drivers failing to observe warning lights.
In the first place, if main technicians are doing their job, warning lights should never appear!
Please state the names of the Main Technicians! who are a threat to taxi Drivers.

IMHO taxi coys that tender out servicing contracts are doing themselves n TDs a great disservice. If I'm not wrong these subcons gets a lump sum for each vehicle to be maintained regardless of any issues. Due to intense competition, some may under bid n try to salvage profitability by using cheap parts n fuck up lubs which may not conform to standards. In the long run the vehs will most likely not function as it was suppose. Hence, safety n reliability is compromised.
I strongly feel that LTA should step in n look into this problem seriously, set up a team to regulate maintenance standards before more taxis become fire engines!! Asking TDs to pay for repairs by slapping some excuses is really a lowball tactic employed by workshops/taxi coy. I feel sorry for those that are caught in this predicament, stand firm n dun backdown despite whatever they say. U pay high rental, naturally yr wear n tear is higher than normal vehicles.
This job is the JOB of NTA, but those peoples there seem like bo yiew lan, collect membership fees until laughing to the bank, knn

Correct me if I am wrong. But I believe all!! taxi companies tender out servicing jobs to private workshops. So all taxi companies are already doing a disservice to Taxi Drivers by charging 3 x rental and saving on maintenance by tendering out maintenance to the cheapest bidder.
Problem for the taxi driver starts when the cheapest bidder cuts corners on maintenance even further by many ways! of which some are revealed above by you.
Main Problems faced by the taxi driver are frequent breakdown even after regular servicing. If I am driving a regular car and it just came out of the workshop, I will go back to the workshop if there are still problems with it. Last thing I want is an argument with a Main or Senior Technician with regards to calling a Tow Truck.
Calling a Tow Truck costs money. If the car belongs to you, you call tow truck, you pay.
If you driving a TAXI and call a tow truck if the vehicle breaks down like as the TS described, you can still be charged towing service if the Main Technician can write a good report.
Bottomline is this. Taxi drivers are paying their dues. 3 times the rental of same cars. But taxi drivers get only one third the service.
Agree with you at the end that LTA and whatever should look into this matter before there are lots os sonotas on fire or taxi drivvers jumping off with their passengers.

And I believe one of their objectives is to ensure that their member are not exploited with unjust and unscrupulous manner from their taxis companies.
