Sometimes members have posted on adverts by citizens offering taxi services, limosouine services or whatever for hire means using their private cars to ferry the public.
We all know this is an offence but in a recent case (see link), the driver not only license gantung and fined, he got his vehicle seized and forfeited.
So be warned and if you notice such people better warn them.

The issue in this case, is that once the Attorney General (Public prosecutor) makes an application to forfeit your car, then it's game over.
If you lucky only fine and license gantung - which already very bad.
Huh ? It is so common at MBS , private cars with red license plate fetching and send MBS staffs home leh .....
So long liao ..... think half a year liao .
But unrelated to any radio taxi centre .
Clearly infringing of law there .
The key word is for hire. Sending people home for free and goodwill is alright, or if an organisation sends the guests back as part of a service package. (in that case the vehicles must have the extra insurance)
is this the same guy as the one we were discussing in another some time ago?

No this guy operate from Mustaffa, offer to send 1 nepali to Malaysia and back for a fee.
Mustaffa got a lot of this pattern, LTA always operation there.
Anyway like Mr Liverpool, Mustaffa is on my ban list unless I happen to pass there after midnight for shopping

Of course, sending people home free is up to individual, the laws cannot take any action as it can be friends taking friends home.
Remember there was this guy who offer free trips at CQ that appeared in the papers, ??
Doing any profitable trade for a fees without a business licence or a chartered certification like TD, is an offence in Singapore.

No I didnt know about that case. What happened? Is it allowed since not for hire? If out of goodwill, offering strangers a lift, I doubt any offence, only when money changes hand - that is if driver asks and expects. But if somebody gave you some money for petrol or out of goodwill when none was expected, i think the guy will get away.
I believe people give monetary as a gratitude more than a fee, if I can get a private car home, I also feel paiseh and perhap just give a 10 on the petrol, but people do not understand that what they are doing is giving no favor to TD. Indirectly speaking, you are destroying people rice bowl without much thinking?? very naive, so to speak.
But if he is looking for opportunity for chio bu there, then that is different.
But of course, there are alway peoples who think they are very creative and want to be in the news.
Oh MBS got one retail outlet , one staff engaged her relative to sent the staffs home .
do anytin u wan juz dun get caught......................
Singapore don't allow tips.
But tip off, welcome.
One day, someone will get pointed out by an angry or jealous person. Singapore style.
The negatives thoughts and insecure feelings over the loss of something will definetly play its roles when the times arise...Not just Sinagpore style...i rather say its Human style...once you cross a certain individual boundary line..tats it...al hells break loose...
