A $1500/mth job is still better than TD drawing $3000/mth.

MY calculation is based on total worked hrs a yr for both jobs against total drawn amt $ for the yr. MY calculation also takes into account PH,annual leaves,sat & sundays (sick leaves not included) bonus also not included.

Taxi flexible hours. Daily income. If need more money drive few more trips. On good days can keep early. Says like me got 2 elder at home which I need to bring they see specialist appointment every month. Employer can afford your to take leave few days a month? And if you earn $1500 can you afford the convenience of a car? Even if same income still TD wins because with only $3000 you cannot even afford a decent car in singapore....

i work full time and recently drive taxi part time...im very happy that i got more cash and hopefully to resolve my debt issues to a lesser period rather than 5 years long.

if he is hardworking, he can take on alot of jobs in-between his regular ones. $4,000 no CPF contribution.... is surely better than $1,200 after CPF contribution.

Fixed salary job still need to pay CPF contribution, hence 20% lesser. Ie, final amount is $1,200. If one is satisfied with $1,200... Then go and work lor.... But you won't be comfortable with it. -

the payout i agree with TS. TD enjoy flexibility. The hrs and risk involved as a TD should command higher profit. Risk of accident, illness, robbery.

This is a very vague thread, in considering salary against the work involved is really up to individual to decide, and in wages, there are few types wages involved, in reality, people use the real wage as a more direct approach against the cost of living.
A monthly paid person, his real wage include the CPF and the contribution from the employer's CPF, his other allowances and of course OT, if any in a constant way.
Both TD and a wage earner may share the different task and flexibility and also responsibility at their work, but in a holistic approach, we are all in a so called same same but different situation, same in a way that we are all in the lower rank of the social status or in social term they call it "proletariat", and different in a way of our lifestyle and the way we wanted to work.
The proletariat is a term used to identify a lower class in the society , usually the poor ; a member of such a class is proletarian. Originally it was identified as those people who had no wealth and have to work for others.
