juz enter part of the road name can liao...
eg... flora rd... juz enter flo can liao...

If Floral Road still need GPS , that driver pls dun drive a taxi .

Until now ...... i still dunno which place i might need a GPS .
Last time Kovan area need ... those Kang Choo Bin Road , Parry Ave , Richards Ave , Parry Lane , Parry Terrance etc .... now dun need , cos seldom kena go Kovan .
Still manageable in Kovan .

Nabey like that also can bluff thru pax ..... hahahahah

Actually my head thinking Serangoon Ave 4 side ..... Philips Ave or Rosyth that side , but no leh ..... never see before hahahahaha , tikum tikum teacher estate .

Only a few places u need to spend sometimes and effort to explore and learn ...
Kovan ..... Coronation Road area .
And some part of Maryland Road off Holland Road .
And some parts in Jalan Leban Jalan Chenggam inside , deep area inside .....

Knowing all the roads isn't as important as knowing where to go to find customers. At what time at what place sure got customers and no need queue for long time. Knowing where and when the durian drop and not waiting for durian to drop. This knowledge cannot be purchased or keyed in. This is all Experience!!! That is why TD like Poolman and the old birds can drive 4-6 hrs and can go to Lavander to have kopi and his beef kway teoh then go home.

I know most of the road, but always forget when needed to go. Guess this is why i ended up as Taxi Driver.

Same same, i use to know most of the roads, younger days when i tell me which area i can tell u which page of street directory it's on...
Now memory not so good, passenger tell me place my mind tell me i know but i forget exactly where it is..
I just start drive cab, got many times i dunno how to go liao, but just drive only turn here turn there end up reach.. Like six sense, i totally dunno where i'm going but reach liao.. LoL
Now i standby my Android phone with Sygic, even i know or passenger tell me will show the way i still key in destination.. I use bluetooth so all the instruction goes to my earpiece and i switch screen off, so battery last longer.
The fastest route function really go by route with lowest congestion, cos the app sends your speed so other user of the app when select fastest route it will base on the traffic condition. Shortest route really shorter save pax $1-2 but many traffic lights...
Also i like to switch it on cos it beeps when speed camera or red light camera junction, keeps me alert driving at night.
First time use Sygic didn't like cos seems harder to use then Garmin or Papago, but now happy with it.. Only in KPE it gives wrong number or no number at all. CBD no need say GPS signal there not good with my phone so many tall building, till now i still not good with CBD building names and taxi stands

As a civilian driver , u may know a bit or two of Singapore road , but as a taxi driver , it's different , u cannot apply the way u drove a civilian car , on a taxi .

since u know where can get pax,then give some tips lah!i also know this reasoning!but some taxi co. got more advantage getting png eg hyundai sonata!

Haha my home ground. Born in Simon Road, later shift to Da Silva Lane and my ah gong stays in Jalan Tani when it is still a Kampong
