Aviva Open
Singapore (AOS) 2009 will be
held at the Singapore Indoor Stadium from 9 to 14
Jun 2008. The event is in its 6th year running, is sanctioned by the Badminton
World Federation (BWF), organized by Singapore Badminton Association (SBA) and
supported by Singapore Sports Council (SSC). AOS
2008, a week-long event, saw some 207 top shuttlers from 24 countries
participating in the Super Series tournament, with close to 65% of the world’s
Top 10 players vying for the US$200,000 prize money at
stake.
The badminton
fraternity’s heavyweights and Olympic qualifiers such as Peter Gade, Lee Chong
Wei, Tine Rasmussen, Xie Zhongbo and Guo Zhendong competed in the tournament.
Lee Chong Wei from Malaysia
and Tine Rasmussen from Denmark eventually emerged victorious
as the Men’s and Women’s Singles Champion respectively.

I read somewhere that they are going to attempt to set the world record for the largest rally! The qualifying rounds are held tomorrow at different stadiums like Bedok, Jurong East, Hougang and Bishan, and the actual attempt will be on 23rd May at Raffles City! This is something interesting!

Oh no, I made a mistake in the previous post. The qualifying rounds are held on 16th May, not tomorrow!!
The largest badminton rally is going to be set in the records soon! This saturday (23rd May) at Raffles City Level 3! (= YayYyy!
