  nope i havent... have got very limited travel experience... but ive heard frm my colleagues that vietnam is not bad.

  just went to google abit, is balikpapan abit like thailand? what is it famous for? from what i google its seem to be more into timber n mining. not much into other areas.

  hi, Bali is quite nice, you can go to places aside from the crowded Kuta beach. I stayed in Ubud and liked it a lot. I wrote a post about it here: http://analoguemonologue.blogspot.sg/2013/05/alternative-bali-ubud-padi-fields-blue.html

  other places are like what others have mentioned huahin (thailand), Krabi (thailand), Langkawi (m'sia), Boracay (philippines), there's also penang (m'sia), cameron highlands (m'sia), islands such as Pulau tioman, bintan, pangkor, pangkil, sibu, and rawa...

  there are loads of options. what type of vacation are you looking at?

  Rainy season is one thing. I also heard that nowaday, Sabah's custom checkpoint is quite strict. If you intend to take video or photo camera, chance are they would conscificated your batteries inside for some "safety?" reason if they did an luggage check on you. And place like Sabah, I doubt you can easily buy another batteries. So you have been warned !
