let the youngsters play. I dun mind if foster play in goal for the league cup. dun need to field the first team, even if they are chasing the game. the league cup is not a top priority unlike the league title and CL and fa cup. lose also never mind.
Cup derby postponed
United's Carling Cup semi-final first leg against Manchester City has been postponed.
The Reds were due at Eastlands on Wednesday night, but heavy snow in the north west means the game has been rearranged to Tuesday 19 January.
The second leg, originally scheduled for Tuesday 19 January at Old Trafford, will now take place on Wednesday 27 January. As a result of this, the Barclays Premier League home game against Hull City (scheduled for 26 January) has been postponed. A new date for this fixture has yet to be decided.
SNOW JOKE ... the scene outside Eastlands today
The Reds were due at Eastlands on Wednesday night, but heavy snow in the north west means the game has been rearranged to Tuesday 19 January. -- I see.
ZZZ Can't they just get it done and over with...
I rather they put on Foster,'cause I hink he's better.
Haizzzz.... The anticipating Manchester Derby has to be postoned fortnight's later...... But it may be good as all Man U players can have ample time to rest for the Birmingham crucial BPL match.
my bet is again on Manchester United team.
i bet for milan !!!
can play the likes of wellbeck, macheda, owen, diouf, foster, cory evans, anderson for the match against city. even if lose also doesnt matter. this cup is not a priority, league title and CL are.
I wouldn't take this match too lightly for the following reasons -
a) Man City has not won a trophy for 33 years. As United fan, it is in our interest to see that this record continue. We have a chance to stall them in their trophy quest so we should do it with pleasure
b) The Carling Cup might realistically be our only chance of a trophy this season.
c) With out huge debts, revenue from a victorious Cup and additional match days income will help our operating profits.
d) Our 'kids' were brutally smashed by Leeds. They will be torn to pieces by a matured Man City. We should play a mixed team blend with kids and experienced players.
VDS
Rafael - Evan - Brown - Fabio
Valencia - Anderson - Carrick - Giggs/Park
Rooney - Diouf/Owen
We won't be able to catch this on cable right?

nah I dun think fergie will want to put his first team out in a league cup match. maybe some of the regulars like carrick, evra, brown, evans may play and the other half made up of kids like wellbeck, diouf, fabio, rafael, anderson, gibson etc.
the league cup is not a priority, so even a loss to city in the semi finals is not a big deal. fergie sacrifised the fa cup last season against everton in the semi finals to concentrate on the league title, so I am not surprised if he did it again on Wednesday. the priority is this saturday epl match.
My Guess... Vidic coming back from injury might be given a chance to run out...
Kuszczak
Rafael / Evans / Vidic / Fabio
Park / Fletcher / Anderson / Giggs / Obertan
Owen
Sub: Foster / De Laet / Brown / Valencia / Welbeck / Diouf / Rooney.
Man U can inflict Man City's 1st ever second concentive defeat this season if they win for the 1st leg. Most likely, Man U can narrowly win as Man City need to bounce back for shock 2-0 loss at Everton whereas Man U can continue building their momentum after a 3-0 avenge win against Burnley.
At the same time, Man U can keep winning the rest of matches until almost at the end of the season.

Yes. Don't really understand why both starhub or Singtel did not buy over Carling Cup rights.

well, the local pride may push SAF to do something. and U can only get better if U play more games, not sit and rest.

man united play who on next saturday? if it is against a difficult opponent like villa or everton, he may ought to rest most of his regular players. if against hull or bolton, he may select both his regulars and youngsters. I am sure there is no way he will play his full team against city in the league cup, just look at the fa cup debacle against Leeds at OT.
