Pilot may have deliberately crashed hijacked plane to avoid a 9/11 scenario where Singapore could have been a target.
Daily Star reported another theory which has emerged to explain how an airliner, equipped with tracking devices, vanished without a trace.
An aviation expert said he believed the pilots may have deliberately crashed it as hijackers stormed the cockpit.
They would have taken the action fearing they could be used to commit another 9/11-style attack.
Pilot Karlene Petitt claimed terrorists might have planned to smash the plane into a skyscraper in a city such as Hong Kong or Singapore.
"I think the flight deck was compromised. The terrorists turned the transponder, which gives its location, off," she told the Daily Star.
"They told the captain to fly towards a different city. Hong Kong comes to mind, but they could have turned back to Singapore, or head anywhere in range with one mission in mind – create another 9/11.
“I believe that the captain initially followed their directions and when he realised what was about to happen he put the plane into the ocean to save thousands of lives on the ground.
“If I were in that seat and they decided they did not need me any more I would click off the autopilot and push the nose over in descent during my final breath.�
She told the Daily Star that no terrorists had taken responsibility as their plan had failed and they wanted to launch a similar bloodbath soon.
She said search parties must work out and search possible flight paths to nearby cities in order to find any wreckage. -

"“We have checked the radar recording for the period but found no clue about the ill-fated flight",” the Civil Aviation Authority said in a statement. Zabihullah Mujahid, a spokesman for the Taliban in Afghanistan said the missing plane had nothing to do with them. "“It happened outside Afghanistan and you can see that even countries with very advanced equipment and facilities cannot figure out where it went",” he said. "“So we also do not have any information on this as it is an external issue."” A Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) commander said that his group could only dream about such an operation. “"We only wish we had an opportunity to hijack such a plane like this",” he told Reuters by telephone from North Waziristan Agency.

Late last week Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak told the world’s media that the plane was purposely diverted from its course — leading to a flurry of hijacking theories — but a British aviation expert who was a key witness in the Pan Am Lockerbie bombing trial has now discredited those ideas.
The former head of the UK’S Federal Aviation Authority, Billie Vincent, told the Telegraph that he believed the plane suffered a “catastrophic event� over the Gulf of Thailand. The pilots would have been looking for a safe place to land as the cabin filled with smoke, he said.
“As opposed to being hijackers, the crew were heroically trying to save the aeroplane, save themselves and the passengers when this catastrophe hit,� he told the paper.
