Hi Forumer, (first time posting)
I just finished MYE of Sec 4. I take Amaths and Double Pure Science
Stats:
Physic : B3
Chemistry: D7
English: B4
Chinese: B3
Amaths: A1
Maths: A1
Combined Human, SS and Geog: C5
1) Should i drop pure science? I didnt really study into great depth for chem. But it is very pekchek to study chemistry as compared to others.
2) Does JC admission really require my pure sci? Art course will be a no no. Leaving science course to choose from.
3) Fact or Rumour? Jc is easier to get into NUS or equivalent uni than Poly? Given that i am very interested in engineering (civil & structural).
4) maybe a bit far off. NUS engineering is it easier to get into? I hope there are some graduates out there to enlighten me!
5) Pure science does it really contribute to engineering poly? (if i happen to continue pure science and get a very lousy grade, will poly prefer A2/1 combine science or C5/6 pure science?)
6) Overseas uni will not be a problem in my case financial/health issues, so is Poly more advisable?
Hope there are kind souls solving these myths!

1. No. Keep Pure.
2. Yes (combined can, but must be A grade).
3. Fact.
4. Physics & Math both must be A grade, and overall good Uni Admission Score.
5. Pure Physics is a must for most engineering courses (Eagle is the expert here).
6. Ask Eagle.
4) Google "NTU grade profile" / "NUS grade profile" for reference
5) No difference. A pass will do
6) Go JC if you intend to study abroad. Poly 3 years and JC 2 years, you will save 1 year of time if you go JC. A level cert is more recognizable at oversea uni than diploma.
