GCE 'O' Level 2011 Results and JAE Posting

Damn no one seems to be commenting on this page,but i guess i'll be first to start. So i got back my results: l1r4:12 l1r5:14 So i'm planning on going on Nanyang Poly,these are the main choices i have: Information Security: COP 17 Banking and Financial Services: COP 14 Financial Informatics:COP 15 Molecular Biotechnology:COP 13 Now my first choice would be information security,but wouldn't it be a waste of the grades i got if i went there?Is the COP a manifestation of how good the course would be? And can someone make a brief explanation of the courses and what would make a better living for myself in the future. Thanks Dudes i hope someone replies me

you can choose to top information security, or to be the norm in those 3 other course u chosen

I'm not really sure which poly course to take with my results. I'm interested in IT but my dad and friends advised me not to take an IT related course as it's hard to get jobs in the IT industry due to the large number of foreigners taking up such jobs.
Instead they suggested I should take up business or engineering related courses. Thing is I'm not really interested in those kind of courses. I'm afraid I won't be motivated to do well if I take up a course which I'm not interested in. Anyone could give me some advice?

What course or area of expertise do you think is in demand right now?Can you share me some experiences if you have gone to poly?Sorry if i can be demanding :) -

jobs in demand are popping up everyday, a few years ago, we don't have a social media department in companies.
now, we have facebook, twitter, all these are new ways to connect with customers.
you should look and see if they have new course, because i think you can get a job easily because in the industry there isn't much people with the new skill

no waste of grades, in fact, u will be on the priority list.
if tts the one u want, then mai tu liao.
go with wat u like and not wat others force on u
if u are doing something u have no interest in, chances are u will do badly or everyday unhappy

I just browsed through the JAE booklet and saw two courses which look similar.
Network systems and security and Infocomm security management. Are they exactly the same?

if they are the same, y would they make them 2 courses?

If combined sci chem/bio b3, physics a2, can try to appeal in into pjc h2 chem and h2 phy :( ?

If H2 Chem is essential for your future Uni course, then appeal to every JC (that your L1R5 makes you eligible for) that will allow you to take H2 Chem with your B3 Combined Science Chem, then go to that JC. In other words, be prepared to go to some 'lousier' JC if PJC won't allow you to take H2 Chem. -

To take H2 Chemistry, the student must have achieved at least C6 in Pure Chemistry or B4 in Combined Science (Phy/Chem or Bio/Chem).

Not the same.
i think one is focus more on the "physical" securities, one is more on "software"
But i know Network systems and security is under School of Engineering, the other one is School of Information Technology, both from Ngee Ann Polytechnic. Correct me if i am wrong.

Graduated from autonomous secondary school
(I hate the school as I felt & still feel that my school gave all the good teachers to the classes that "got hope"to do well.Since I was from one of those less academically inclined classes, I could sense they were ringing the death knell since they gave me all the sh**ty teachers since I entered secondary 3)

I'm more towards JC. I'm deciding between innova and pioneer. Which would be better? For me i prefer a more spoonfeed environment where notes are provided. & teachers are kind and caring. I would also prefer a more friendly school environment, where people are not backstabbing each other.
Advice please!
p/s innova will roughly take 20mins travel, pioneer will be around 40mins.
I'm considering these factors:

From my experience, I think Innova is better than Pioneer.
I don't like the way PJ teaches their H2 Maths

hi all my l1r5 13, planning to go to tpjc. What is the recommended subject combi if i wan to be a psychologist? My poa, amaths, emaths, eng, comb. humans(geog,ss) a2, physics, chem and chinese b3.
P.S. for psychology, i am planning to deal with teenagers and young adults.

Yes, you will lose out to them. Bonus points are counted into the final score.
