Hi, I'm new here and only just joined this forum. Hope I'm posting in the right section.
I just enrolled into polytechnic a few months ago, have an important question to ask.
Is it very important to acquire as much CCA points as ever? I ask this because everyone says that joining a CCA is not compulsory, yet CCA points are important according to them. I do recall that to get into our local universities (NTU, NUS etc.), it is important to score an extremely high GPA and CCA points for a boost. However, what if I were aiming to go for an overseas university, let's say in the US or UK? I think it makes sense that all the same, high GPA is required. But are the CCA points equally important to overseas universities?
Upon complete polytechnic education, I am most likely aiming to go to an overseas university. So, I am really crossing my fingers, hoping that CCA points will not matter as much as compared to enrolling into a local university. This is because I do not want to participate in a lot of events and CCAs stuff to for the sake of CCA points. I just want to live polytechnic without a lot of extra events, to concentrate on acing everything to achieve the best GPA obtainable through my efforts. Additionally, I will join only one CCA which I enjoy and not for the sake of CCA points.
However, If CCA points are really as equally very important to enrol to overseas university, I have to abandon my hope and start participating in as many CCA point achievable events and CCAs but will be put under unbearable stress and pressure...
I hope this is not too long winded and irritating, I deeply apologise if it is. Look forward to serious answers that can help me. Thanks very much in advance! =)
