Hi :D I'm planning to take H2 Econs, Maths, History and H1 CSE.
I know that they have no textbooks in JC, so could anyone give me an advice on how I should prepare for the Economics subject? And if possible, advice for other subjects too?
Are there any reference books to recommend?
Thanks!
personally i like and would recommend Paul Heyne's The Economic Way of Thinking...
a classic work for good and clear understanding of economics and its limitations....
basically, it is best to treat economics as analytical tools.....but they can never solve human nature and greed....
there will be lecture notes and readings and guide books

I'll take note of the book!
I don't quite know about Economics right now, but over the 2 years I hope I get a clearer idea of what it is and how it affects our life :)
Thanks for the recommendation!

Haha I know, I just wanna read up on Economics to get an idea of what it is before school starts :]
Simply speaking, econs is about how people deal with scarce resources.
Pretty interesting.
and welcome to the game theory of life..... :)
There's A level textbook written by John Sloman
Just wait to start school, and your teachers will recommend you.
you won't need any books at all, other than the book from john sloman. but even that's optional.
the notes that your jc tutors give you will be more than enough to cover everything in the syllabus. not that you have much time to do anything else.
as for extra materials, it would be good to try and get a set of other school's exam papers and notes, especially top schools like rjc, hci, vjc etc.
there are some schools which have pretty strong departments in certain subjects, and it is good to obtain notes and materials from those schools too.
PJC history notes is quite good, and their hist dept are quite good at spotting questions.

Wow thanks for the advice!
Maybe I'll buy that book first to have a look :)
