There is a post in the education forum in the CNA forum
that HMT can be used to replace English Language as L1 in the L1R5.
Is it true ?
Anyone can confirm it or provide the official source to confirm it ?
Thanks.
Yes, it's true.
Yes, some of my friends used their Higher Chinese to get into JC because they screwed up their English.
That said, it would do you well to score in English.
yeah it's true, provided that you pass in English too.
you can even choose not to takeĀ MT in JCs. Im not sure if the grade requirements are same in all JCs but in my JC, you'll have to score at least D7 in HMT
Yup that's the minimum requirement set by MOE ... So long as you get D7 for HMT you don't have to take MT in JC (though chances are you are encouraged to do so!) and furthermore if you pass your HMT you get 2 bonus points which you can deduct from your L1R5 ... :D
my results
EL-B3
HMT, EM, AM, PHY, CHEM, BIO, CH -A1
L1r5: 6, thus EL can be replaced by HMT
