Infor tech vs engineering higher nitec .

I need advise in choosing a course in ITE. My friend is saying that IT is a easiler course to deal with compared to engineering and if year1 GPA good can apply to a poly . Also i need to retake my O level : ENG,MATHS&SCIENCE . Is it advisable that i get into a easiler course in ITE or ? I know that engineering would be a better option but is it harder to cope ? And anyone know that with a higher nitec infor tech cert , can link to what courses in poly ? Advise and comments welcome ...
