hey guys,
i was thinking about subject combinations for jc level, have read admission criterias for universitys, when university admission says that "pass in either chem or phy" would it be better if i took phy only or both?
as in, lets say theres me and another student, he takes chem+phy, while i take phy only, who will have a better chance at the course? (lets say engineering)
Pick PCME, the majority's combi :) Physics, Maths, Chem, Econs

Hi arball,
It will be better if you have both subjects. As for who will stand a better chance, it will also depends on your overall results and his overall results, besides the subject combination.
Cheers.

Hi Yoconezca,
You can actually help yourself by visiting JC open houses and JC websites through MOE's School Directory Service at:

Thanks.
Cheers,
Wen Shih

very good grades
think you should try PCME or BCME, depending on what you want to do in uni.
if you want to become a doctor or dentist, then biology is a must.
and since you already got 4 points, there should be no need for special admission bonus through the LEP programmes into the various JCs offering LEP.
and trust me, i took H2CLL back in JC. regret taking it. the workload is very high, and the chances of getting an A is very low, due to the bell curve (high competition and low student population taking the subject). this will end up taking away much of your time, memorising 4-5 textbooks.
H1 CL is much much easier.
and 4 pts, you can go for RI (JC), HCI, or VJC.

I believe this is wrong.
"Chemistry" is a must, not biology.

Yeah u are right. Chemistry is required, biology is good to have but not essential for medicine or dentistry.
