Braking Distance of a car is directly proportional to square of its speed
when its speed is p m/s the braking distance is 6m
when the speed is increased by 300% find
a) Expression for speed of car
b) Braking distance
c)percentage increase in braking distance
d=distance k=unknown s= speed
i started with this
d=(k)(s^2)
sub s=p d= 6
k= (6) / (p^2)
what should i do for the 300% increase?
the new speed of the car is 4p
erm ya>.< but how do u arrive at 4p. i am stuck at forming the equation for the 300% increase in spd
After increasing by 300%, which is 300/100 x p = 3p
Final speed = p + 3p = 4p
