actually im quite torn between nus and ntu engineering. people say ntu is better, if youre doing engineering. newer labs, more practical, more hands on. thing is, i hate practicals. always hated lab in secondary school and in jc.
on the other hand, nus' school life seems to be more vibrant. what with all the halls and stuff. ntu's campus looks nicer though, but hall life, non existent??
If everything remains status quo from e past, NTU does more on prac.
NTU has more halls tahn NUS currently. Hall life i would stay depends on how much you want to take part in the hall activities
Anyway, u should appreciate practicals. Thats the knowledge u need when you work in future and not really all the theory.
You would definitely get into NTU common engineering. Why? I obtained a miserable ADD and I got in last year...

Anyway just wait for letter from NTU. Rejected or accepted they will give u a letter. As long as you have not got a rejection letter it means they are still putting you on hold and you have a chance to get in on a later wave.
actually, i dont really wanna do engineering. but thing is, i dont really wanna do anything else.
besides, ACC, cant really go anywhere. biz school is out. science?? I got Cs for both sciences, plus i dont wanna do a general science degree and be a teacher?? i can only go into engineering and perhaps FASS and nursing. and for engineering, i cant even enter the better ones like chemical and material science. can only go to the "dumping ground" engineering courses (sorry, no offence)
another reason for choosing engineering. more career options i guess. engineers are always in demand?? so they say. and engineers can cross over to finance sector but not vice versa.
im pretty much restricted by my grades, so aye, beggars cant be choosers

im not sure i want engin but im pretty sure i dont want anything else. haha. but i dont want to enter uni late. and i really dont wanna go through that hellish experience again.
Good luck then. Engineering requires alot of physics and maths though and its a very different environment from JC.
Why no smu sia.
you should love practical if you're interested in engineering
you can't escape prac from engineering cirriclulum

not just engine, all the other uni courses too, u'll find yrself mugging like crazy
last time tot JC mugging worst in student life, in the end turned out uni even worse

true... but i heard NTU is cheenaland. hahaa. where all the people speak in chinese and the lecturers are from India and China.
i really suck at lab work. im damn clumsy and damn bad at hands on. i hate connecting circuits. hate mixing chemicals and hate recording results, cos im damn inaccurate and damn disorganised. hate plotting graphs. lol. my sciences suck too. i got Cs for both of them. maybe im making the worst mistake of my life

coz
i dont really wanna do biz and management. and from what ive heard from friends and their friends and their friends, the whole world's doing biz this year. the whole world's applying to nus and ntu and smu biz or accountancy.
surely lose one. i dont wanna fight with them.
in any case, those from china are better with maths and science, so expect more of them in engine

in short, the whole republic of singapore is already a province of prc...
Both NUS and NTU have indian and china profs, u cannot avoid them no matter where u go. Language depends on you and your friends, i speak more chinese to my friends but that doesn't mean everyone does.
Engineering and science are courses where practical work is an important component. I think labs are a seperate module by themselves for some courses so u really cannot afford to do too badly in them.
so nus or ntu better in engine?

are you serious?!! when i was mugging for As, the teachers say As is the worst part of student life, that uni would be better. i dont know how ill survive if it gets any worse than As. i was barely surviving in jc.

Uni definitely requires alot of mugging as well unless you are really paying attention in every lesson and can absorb and remember everything taught.

lol. that is the least of my concern right now, but thats a plus point too. hahaa.
why, are you dying in engin?

That's true. NUS & NTU is almost a "cheenaland" to me. Haha! And don't worry about the lab work. Because I always believe that after time & practice, you will find your way around them. And if you think you are making the worst mistake of your life with 2 Cs in your sciences, then should I feel disheartened about my 2 Ds in sciences too?
